We don’t think you should pay any attention to this $949.99 figure, as the HP OmniBook 3 14 is not a laptop of that price range.

      What do we know about the specs?

      What we do know, however, is that the $549.99 price of the HP OmniBook 3 is arguably excellent. In addition to the 16 GB RAM and 512 GB of replaceable storage, the laptop also carries a 1600p touch-sensitive display, a fairly large 60 Wh battery, and a good port selection.

      There are:

      • Two Type-C ports
      • One USB-A port
      • A headphone jack
      • An HDMI output

      These are pretty good specs for a $549.99 Windows laptop, and, in some areas, beat the MacBook Neo. For instance, the $599 MacBook Neo only comes with soldered 8 GB of RAM, a non-replaceable 256 GB SSD, only two Type-C ports, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

      How does the battery compare?

      It has been quite clear since the launch of the Apple MacBook Neo that there are hardly any Windows laptops that can compete with the MacBook Neo at $600. Windows laptop OEMs have finally recognized this, and MacBook Neo competitors like the Dell XPS 13 are on the way. In the meantime, if you need a super affordable Windows laptop right now that doesn’t suck, take a look at the HP OmniBook 3 14 that is now on sale at Best Buy.

      The MacBook Neo also has a small 36.5 Wh battery, which delivers good but not great results. With a power efficiency Snapdragon X1-26-100 SoC and a 60 Wh cell, HP claims the OmniBook 3 will last over 20 hours when streaming media online.

      That said, the MacBook Neo is a clearly better option when it comes to build quality, display quality, and single-core performance.

      While we wait for those to arrive, HP is offering the EliteBook 8 G2i 13 exclusively with the Core Ultra 7 355 from Intel’s Panther Lake family. An 8-core processor, the Core Ultra 7 355 also features a 4-core Xe3 iGPU that easily outperforms the equivalent found in older Arrow Lake-based Elitebook 8 G1i models (curr. $1,099 on Amazon). Additionly, HP has paired this Panther Lake processor with a 62 Wh battery that supports up to 100 W charging.

      Moreover, the laptop measures 301.8 x 214.9 x 11.8~15.5 mm, weighs 1.31 kg and features a 13.3-inch IPS display that combines a 1200p resolution with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 800 nits peak brightness and 100% sRGB colour space coverage. It remains unclear when other regional stores will list the device, but its likely they’ll follow soon given the products intial rollout.       The Ascent runs Windows on ARM, a variant of regular Windows 11 for x64 CPUs (AMD or Intel). Its NPU provides up to 50 TOPS of AI compute power. It has one 2.5G LAN jack, one 10G LAN jack, an HDMI 2.1 port with FRL support, five USB-A ports, two USB-C ports, two SFP+ ports, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. This model is good for basic local AI tasks.

      M2 Pro Mini PC with Copilot Button

      The M2 Pro is powered by Intel Panther Lake CPUs capable of providing up to 180 TOPS of AI performance thanks to its fast Xe3 integrated GPU and up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X 8533 RAM.       HP offers its new 17.3-inch laptop with 24 GB or 32 GB of LPDDR5X-8533 RAM and 2 TB of PCIe Gen 5 storage, too. All SKUs ship with the same 76 Wh battery and 1080p IPS display, though. Featuring a 16:9 aspect ratio, the display also delivers 400 nits peak brightness with 100% sRGB colour space coverage and touchscreen support.

      Regional Pricing Variations

      The OmniBook X 17 starts at $1,499 in the US with a Core Ultra 5 325 processor, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. Limited SKUs means that the same laptop costs CAD 2,199 in Canada with the more powerful Core Ultra 7 355. Likewise, the 17-inch laptop costs at least €2,099 in the Eurozone by virtue of HP including 32 GB of RAM, a 1 TB SSD and the Core Ultra X7 358H with Arc B390 graphics.       ThinkPad P14s i Gen 7: An Evolution Since Launch

      A few months have passed since Lenovo announced the ThinkPad P14s i Gen 7. Replacing the Gen 6 model which we reviewd in November 2025, the Gen 7 model has higher memory bandwidth at its disposal thanks to LPCAMM2 (LPDDR5X) RAM running at 8,533 MT/s. Up to Arc B390 integrated and Nvidia RTX Pro 1000 Blackwell discrete graphics are available too, which power a choice of 14.5-inch and 16:10 IPS panels.

      Baseline Specifications and Starting Prices

      The ThinkPad P14s i Gen 7 starts with a Core Ultra 5 336H vPro processor, 16 GB of LPCAMM2 RAM, a 60 Wh battery, a 512 GB SSD and a 1200p IPS display with a 60 Hz refresh rate and 45% NTSC colour space coverage. At the time of writing, Lenovo prices this configuration at AUD 2,899 and HKD 16,583 in Australia and Hong Kong, respectively.

      Meanwhile, the new 14-inch laptop starts at £2,419 in the UK and €2,299-€2,860 in the Eurozone. However, this is only after playing around with Lenovo’s configurator to equip a Core Ultra 7 366H vPro, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB storage and integrated graphics, as well as the same display and battery as in Australia and Hong Kong. Otherwise, the ThinkPad P14s i Gen 7 defaults to £2,730 and €2,509-€3,219 with the Core Ultra 7 356H and an Nvidia RTX Pro 500 Blackwell (6 GB) laptop GPU.

      In all cases, Lenovo offers the laptop with up to a Core Ultra X9 388H vPro, 96 GB of LPCAMM2 RAM, a 2 TB PCIe Gen 5 SSD, a 75 Wh battery and a Snapdragon X61 5G modem.
