NBTC Lists Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 5 Prior to Launch

Samsung is preparing to launch its latest rugged tablet, the Galaxy Tab Active 5. The tablet has been spotted on various certification websites, including Singapore's IMDA and the UAE's TDRA, indicating that its release is imminent. It has now appeared on Thailand's NBTC with the model code SM-X306B, confirming its 5G connectivity. However, there is currently limited information available about the tablet's specifications.

Recent renders of the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 5 have provided some insight into its design and features. The rugged tablet is expected to boast an 8-inch display with thick bezels. It will feature three physical buttons (Menu, Back, and Home) that can be operated even with gloves on. The display will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The tablet is also rumored to have a single front camera and a single 13MP rear camera with an LED flash. It is certified to meet the MIL-STD-810H standard for durability.

According to the FCC, the tablet will come with an S Pen stylus that includes a customizable programmable key. It will also offer IP68 protection, matching the device's ruggedness. In terms of security, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 5 will include Samsung Knox protection, as well as face recognition and fingerprint scanning.

The tablet is expected to be powered by an Exynos 1380 SoC, accompanied by 6GB of RAM and 64/128GB of internal storage. It will also support expandable storage and will be equipped with a 5050mAh battery. In terms of connectivity, the tablet will offer 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and GPS. It will run on Android 14 out of the box and is likely to be available in black and gray color options.
