Moto G Play (2024): A Closer Look at the Specifications and Features

Motorola, the Lenovo-owned brand, has recently launched the Moto G Play (2024) in the US market. This new offering serves as the successor to the Moto G Play (2023) that made its debut last year. With a few upgrades, let's delve into what the Moto G Play (2024) has to offer.

Design and Display

The Moto G Play (2024) boasts a boxy design with a rear camera module that slightly protrudes from the back panel. Its design resembles that of the OPPO Find X5 and Reno 8 series. Additionally, the power button on the side also functions as a fingerprint scanner. On the front, the device features a 6.5-inch punch-hole display with an HD+ resolution and a peak brightness of 500 nits. Surrounding the screen are thick bezels, and it offers a 90Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and navigation.

Camera Capabilities

In terms of camera capabilities, the Moto G Play (2024) is equipped with a single 50MP main camera sensor accompanied by an LED flash unit. This is a departure from its predecessor, which featured a triple rear camera setup. For selfies, the smartphone sports an 8MP front-facing camera.

Performance and Storage

Under the hood, the Moto G Play (2024) is powered by a Snapdragon 680 processor. It comes with 4GB of RAM that can be expanded up to 6GB with the help of virtual RAM. The device offers 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded using a microSD card slot. To keep the device running, it is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 15W fast charging. On the software front, the Moto G Play (2024) runs on the latest Android 13 operating system out of the box.

Pricing and Availability

The Moto G Play (2024) is available in the Sapphire Blue color variant. Motorola has priced the smartphone at $150, and it will be available for purchase in the US starting from February 8th.

With its upgraded features and affordable price point, the Moto G Play (2024) presents itself as a compelling option for budget-conscious consumers in the US market.
