iQOO recently unveiled the iQOO Neo 9 Pro in India on Feb. 22, and just before the launch, they hinted at the arrival of the iQOO Z9 5G in the country. Although the phone's landing page has been up on Amazon for a week now, the official launch date was kept under wraps until today when the brand confirmed it will be revealed on March 12.
iQOO Z9 5G Key Specifications
The iQOO Z9 5G's landing page on Amazon highlights its key feature - the Dimensity 7200 chipset. This same processor powers devices like the Redmi Note 13 Pro+, IQOO Z7 Pro, Vivo V27, Vivo VS17e (exclusive to China), and the upcoming Nothing Phone (2a), which will also sport a variant of the chip called the Dimensity 7200 Pro.
Camera and Display Details
One notable feature of the iQOO Z9 5G is its pioneering use of an OIS-enabled Sony IMX882 50-megapixel primary camera. This camera sensor is also found on the Realme 12 Pro 5G, introduced in India last month. Reports suggest that the phone will boast a 6.x-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is anticipated to run on FunTouch OS 14 based on Android 14 and include an under-display fingerprint scanner for enhanced security.
Battery, Color Options, and Pricing
The iQOO Z9 5G is likely to house a 5,000mAh battery with 44W fast charging support. For selfies, it might sport a 16-megapixel front camera. The device is expected to be available in blue and green color variants in India. In terms of pricing, sources hint at a sub-Rs 20,000 (~$240) price tag, positioning it as an attractive offering in its segment.
