    Still, one can also configure the GeForce RTX 5080 for $250 less than what HP originally charged for its GeForce RTX 5070 Ti sibling. According to our benchmarks, the GeForce RTX 5080 is around 16% faster than the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti when gaming. Some of HP’s pricing is misleading, though.

    Misleading Discounts and Higher-End Variants

    Last month, it was possible to configure the Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus, RTX 5090, 64 GB of RAM, 2 TB of PCIe Gen 5 storage and a 240 Hz OLED display for $4,469. However, this variant now costs $4,769, allegedly down from a $5,569 MSRP. By contrast, AMD alternatives cost at least $2,899 with the Ryzen AI 7 450 and an GeForce RTX 5070 Ti.
