    Unsurprisingly, there is no room for discrete graphics, and the Radeon 840M is only good enough for extremely non-intensive tasks and very casual gaming at low settings. Compared to the Core Ultra 7 355 chip’s 4-core Xe3 iGPU, the Radeon 840M is around 29% slower.

    Upgradeability and Connectivity

    That said, the APU is far from a benchmarking powerhouse, with the Apple M5 being over 40% faster in synthetic tests. Moreover, the LPDDR5X memory is soldered, making future upgrades simply out of reach for consumers. Thankfully, the storage (M.2 2242) is not soldered, and can be swapped down the road if necessary.

    The I/O is pretty decent, packing dual USB-C ports, a single USB-A, HDMI 2.1, audio jack, as well as a microSD slot. We found the laptop’s battery life to be quite impressive, lasting over 14 hours in our web browsing test with brightness set to 150 nits.

        A Price Comparison That Hurts

        In fact, the MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ is so expensive that you can currently buy an RTX 5060 gaming laptop with 32 GB of DDR5 memory and a QHD display alongside a handheld gaming console for the price of one Claw 8 EX AI+.

        The laptop we are talking about is the Gigabyte Aero X16 with a Ryzen AI 7 350, an RTX 5060 laptop GPU, 32 GB of RAM, and a 1 TB SSD, which has now dropped by $150 to $1,249.99 at Best Buy.         Is The Arc G3 Extreme Worth It?

        So, even if you were intrigued by the MSI Claw 8 EX AI+, the handheld looks like a tough sell at $1,799. If one can get a decent gaming laptop and a portable console to play lighter AAA games on the go, all for the price of one MSI Claw 8 EX AI+, is the better performance of the Arc G3 Extreme enough to swoon gamers?

        We are not sure many gamers would see the appeal of the MSI Claw 8 EX AI+. Yes, there exists a subset of users who can shell out $1,799 for the Claw 8 EX AI+ based on the handheld’s performance. But for the Intel Arc G3 and Arc G3 Extreme to loosen AMD’s chokehold on the Windows handheld gaming console space, Intel and OEMs need to do better. Only a healthy selection of powerful yet affordable handheld consoles will make the kind of difference that Intel is hoping for.

This makes the new model significantly more expensive than the older MSI Claw 8 AI+ ($1,119 on Amazon), which features an Intel Core Ultra 7 258V with 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. The higher list price is likely due in no small part to the DRAM crisis. Those willing to pay the price of a mid-range gaming laptop for a gaming handheld should at least recieve top-notch specs.

        Display and Controls Excellence

        Because with the Intel Arc B390, the device is among the most powerful handhelds on the market. The 8-inch display offers a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a decent brightness of 500 nits; it can fully display the sRGB color space. The triggers and analog sticks use Hall-effect sensors to prevent stick drift.

        What we liked and what we didn’t

        Overall, the 16-inch Yoga Pro 9 impressed us with its high performance, and an excellent screen with accurate colors. We also liked the aluminum chassis and speakers, the same applies to the input devices. However, the OLED panel shows the usual PWM flickering, the RAM is soldered and the laptop can get quite loud in performance mode. None of this changes the fact that the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i G10 Aura Edition is a well-rounded multimedia machine thats arguably worth considering in the sub-$2,000 price segment.

The monitor is now available through Amazon and Newegg for $1,299, joining a small but growing group of displays built around Samsung Display’s latest RGB Stripe QD-OLED panel, a.k.a 5th Gen QD-OLED panel.

          That also makes it one of the most expensive options in the category. For comparison, MSI’s competing MPG 341CQR QD-OLED X36 uses the same panel but is listed at $899.99, though it has yet to reach store shelves.

          Panel Technology and Performance

          As we previously reported, the ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDN pairs a 1800R-curved 34-inch ultrawide panel with a 3440 x 1440 resolution and a 360Hz refresh rate. The biggest highlight here is the underlying 5th Gen QD-OLED panel from Samsung Display. Unlike earlier generations, it uses an RGB stripe sub-pixel layout that reduces color fringing and improves text clarity, addressing one of the biggest complaints about OLED monitors.

          Coating and Brightness Specs

          The monitor also features a new BlackShield coating, which Asus says improves black depth by 40% and offers 2.5X better scratch resistance than previous QD-OLED monitors. That said, this new panel coating is applied by Samsung Display, so it comes standard on all 5th Gen QD-OLED monitors, just different branding. The PG34WCDN is still an impressive showcase for the panel, with up to 500 nits full-screen brightness and 1,300 nits peak HDR brightness.

          Elsewhere, the monitor offers full-bandwidth DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20 connectivity and a USB-C port with 90W power delivery.
