Harbour Masters, if your not aware, is the team behind some of the most polished Nintendo 64 PC ports, including Mario Kart 64, Super Mario 64, Star Fox 64, and more. Harbour Masters, previously known as Harbour Masters 64, has now upgraded its arsenal of tools to handle GameCube titles and is already working on porting its first GameCube title to PC.

      New Translation Layer in Use

Spotted by SteamDeckHQ, Harbour Masters is extending its custom Libultraship translation layer beyond the N64 era to focus on porting popular GameCube titles to PC. The results have been pretty promising.

      First Major GameCube Port

The first major achievement to come out of this work is Twilight Princess: Courage Reborn, a native PC port of the GameCube version of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. The project was spearheaded by Linifadomra’s team and has progressed incredibly quick, thanks to support from Harbour Masters.

Current builds of the native PC port run at a stable 60 FPS with full keyboard and mouse support. The project is almost complete, with the team citeing only minor cutscene bugs and polishing issues.

      Team Collaboration Details

Harbour Masters will handle and contribute to development assistance, as well as provide long-term support, while Linifadomra’s team will retain creative control of the PC port. For context, this PC port is entirely separate from another ongoing effort called Twilight Princess: Dusklight.

In an announcement on Harbour Masters’ Discord server, the team stated:

“Through collaboration with the incredible team over at Linifadomra, Twilight Princess: Courage Reborn will be developed using LUS. Linifadomra retains full creative freedom and will continue to produce the results their community has come to expect.”

    • Halo & Gears E-Day Pre-Orders Leak Before Xbox Showcase

Halo & Gears E-Day Pre-Orders Leak Before Xbox Showcase

      Key Takeaway

      – Halo: Combat Evolved remake is priced at $49.99 and will be shown at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 7th.
      – Physical pre-orders for the remake may start during or after the livestream; a PS5 version is still expected.
      – Gears of War: E-Day will cost $69.99, launch in 2026, and is now likely an Xbox/PC exclusive despite earlier PS5 listing.
      – The Halo remake uses Unreal Engine 5, adds new missions and weapons, but has limited multiplayer (4-player co-op or 2-player split-screen).
      – Exact release dates for both games are still unknown, but more details are expected at the showcase.

Microsofts Big Plans for Halo and Gears

Microsoft is likely to feature a remake of its popular 2001 shooter at the June 7th Xbox Games Showcase. Ahead of the event, reliable insider billbil-kun has obtained Halo: Campaign Evolved pre-order information and a price. In addition, he has reported new details about Gears of War: E-Day, amid confusion over its exclusivity. The publisher already revealed its multi-platform status in October 2025. It’s unclear whether pre-orders for PlayStation console owners will open at the same time as the Xbox and PC versions.

      Halo Remake Pricing and Pre-Orders

Billbil-kun believes that physical pre-orders for the Combat Evolved remake will begin either during or after the livestream. Buyers may be relieved to know that it will cost $49.99/€59.99 for all platforms. The leaker hasn’t confirmed a release date, but Microsoft could address its launch timing shortly. The studio considers it a remake, with Unreal Engine 5 modernizing the sci-fi shooter’s visuals. Fans saw a glimpse of unreleased footage when leaked screenshots surfaced on Microsoft’s storefront on June 5th.

Whats New in the Campaign and Multiplayer

The developers have also added new missions and weapons and made various gameplay tweaks. On the other hand, more limited multiplayer modes will consist of 4-player co-op or 2-player split-screen. Less expensive than many AAA games, the Halo: Campaign Evolved price could entice buyers. Gears of War: E-Day may be an Xbox exclusive after all, if journalist Jeff Grubb is correct. However, billbil-kun still expects a Halo: Campaign Evolved PS5 version to ship.

      Gears of War E-Day Confusion

Before the Games Showcase, the situation with Gears of War: E-Day is much murkier. After Walmart posted a PS5 listing, many fans assumed it would not be an Xbox exclusive game. Yet insider Jeff Grubb later claimed that Microsoft had canceled the port at the last minute. Billbil-kun has shared a $69.99 price for the third-person shooter when it ships in 2026. He sees evidence of the PS5 port on retail backends, but is only certain that Xbox and PC pre-orders will start after the E-Day Direct livestream. Dealabs magazine (French), billbil_kun X account. To learn more about Halo: Campaign Evolved and Gears of War: E-Day, the Xbox Games Showcase airs at 1PM EDT/7PM CEST.

    • Hitman Trilogy Remaster Announced, Skipping Switch

Hitman Trilogy Remaster Announced, Skipping Switch

      Key Takeaway

      – The original *Hitman* trilogy is getting a remaster titled *Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered*, set for release in 2027.
      – The remaster is handled by Saber Interactive in collaboration with original developer IO Interactive.
      – It will feature enhanced visuals, a toggle for classic graphics, and a photo mode.
      – Launch platforms are PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, with no announced Switch or mobile versions.

You think you know the classics, until they get a shiny new coat of digital paint.

Just as new games are getting made, old ones are getting remastered or remade, and the latest franchise to get the remaster treatment is the original Hitman trilogy. Scheduled for release in 2027, the remaster will launch on major platforms, save for one.

The Hitman trilogy has been remade by some very talented people

The Hitman trilogy which includes Hitman: Codename 47, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, and Hitman: Contracts is being remade by Saber Interactive in collaboration with IO Interactive, the original developers of the three games. Saber Interactive (via Aspyr Media, Inc) has been behind some recent remasters of classic games such as Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered, and Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1& 2 Remastered.

What exactly will be upgraded, according to the official press release

According to an official press release, the remaster will feature enhanced visuals with upgraded character models, enhanced environments, and high-resolution textures; the ability to switch between the modern graphics and the original; and a photo mode, among others.

Where you can play it when it launches, and where you cannot

The game will officially launch as Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered, and will be released for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC via Steam. There’s no mention of the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, which is surprising since their hardware should be capable of running the remaster.

      • Enhanced visuals with upgraded character models
      • Enhanced environments and high-resolution textures
      • Ability to switch between modern and original graphics
      • Photo mode included

Dont count out the switch or your phone just yet, there is alot of precedent

However, considering the other remasters by Saber Interactive are available for the Switch and Switch 2, there’s a chance the Hitman remaster will eventually get released for Nintendo’s consoles. There’s also a chance that we might eventually get a mobile release since Tomb Raider I-III Remastered got a mobile release, albeit two years after it launched on other platforms.

Wuthering Waves Cyberpunk Collab: Adam Smasher

      Key Takeaway

      – Wuthering Waves Version 3.4 launches June 8 with a Cyberpunk: Edgerunners crossover event in a limited-time zone, Somnoire: Night City.
      – Two new 5-star crossover Resonators debut: Lucy (Spectro Hybrid DPS) and Rebecca (Havoc dual-pistol attacker), with Rebecca available free via login event.
      – Quality-of-life updates include a Weekly Activity tab and automated Resonator Ascension Planner.
      – Version 3.5 teased for later summer, introducing the Mengzhou/Wuling region and new 5-star character Lucilla.
      – The crossover banners run until July 9 on iOS, Android, PC, and PlayStation.

Kuro Games Drops Massive Wuthering Waves 3.4 Trailer

Kuro Games used the Summer Game Fest stage to drop the final cinematic trailer for Wuthering Waves Version 3.4, titled “The Dream Not Dreamed.” Launching June 8, the patch introduces a highly anticipated crossover event with Studio Trigger’s acclaimed Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime series. The trailer highlights how Kuro Games is blending Night City’s aesthetic straight into the open-world RPG’s post-apocalyptic universe.

Event Zone and Boss Fight Details

The core of the collaboration unfolds within a localized, limited-time event zone named Somnoire: Night City, an alternate reality constructed from Lucy’s memories. Players navigate this cybernetic distortion through the main event quest, At Dream’s Edge. Expect to clear out data-corrupted Nightmare versions of regular enemies throughout the zone before unlocking the final tactical boss encounter against Nightmare: Adam Smasher.

This patch drops two new 5-star crossover Resonators into the gacha pools together with their limited-edition companion weapons. Lucy joins the roster as a Spectro Hybrid DPS character who fights at mid-range using her signature monowires via the Spectral Trigger weapon. Meanwhile, Rebecca functions as a fast-paced Havoc-element dual-pistol attacker wielding Skull Thrasher. Free-to-play players can claim Rebecca completely free of charge by participating in the Phantom Rapid Unit limited-time login event window.

Quality of Life and Future Content

Outside of the crossover content, Version 3.4 brings important quality-of-life fixes to the base client. Kuro Games is adding a dedicated Weekly Activity tab to streamline the daily routine, alongside an automated Resonator Ascension Planner built directly into the Guidebook to help map out long-term progression metrics.

While the Summer Game Fest footage focused heavily on the immediate Cyberpunk content, the closing frames included a brief visual teaser for the upcoming Version 3.5 region update. This expansion will introduce the new Mengzhou / Wuling territory when Phase 2 launches later this summer, featuring the debut of the 5-star character Lucilla. The Wuthering Waves Version 3.4 update deploys tomorrow on iOS, Android, PC, and PlayStation consoles, with the Cyberpunk banners running until July 9.

Comparisons to Other Mobile RPG Updates

As high-profile mobile action RPGs dominate June with massive content patches, Wuthering Waves isn’t the only title expanding its combat options this week. Players hunting for more fast-paced battle mechanics can head over to our comprehensive coverage of the recent Solo Leveling: Arise June update, which shifts the meta by introducing the high-powered Buster class to the hunter roster.

    • Control Resonant: Remedy started sequel work after Control

Control Resonant: Remedy started sequel work after Control

      Key Takeaway

      – Control: Resonant is Remedy’s first melee-focused game, with protagonist Dylan Faden using no firearms.
      – The game is set in a warped, open-world version of Manhattan with anomalies like gravity shifts and time fractures.
      – Development followed a two-to-three-year production timeline after extensive early prototyping and engine tweaking.
      – “Vision propagation” workshops with cross-disciplinary leads bridged the gap between concept and full production.
      – Kasurinen emphasizes that team cohesion and honest reassessment are critical to avoid losing design harmony.

      New Sequel to Control Announced

Creating a game with otherworldly mechanics in a bizarre setting has been a focus for Remedy over the past few years, with notable examples such as Alan Wake 2, Control, and the upcoming Control: Resonant. This new sequel to the 2019 original will expand upon Control and Remedy’s interconnected Universe with a new protagonist, Dylan Faden, who relies entirely on melee combat instead of firearms this time around. The game will be set in a bizarre, warped version of Manhattan, featuring anomalies such as gravity shifts, time fractures, and unpredictable enemies and events. Typically, development teams taking on such ambitious, over-the-top projects risk unintentionally losing design harmony.

      Interview with the Director

Game Developer had a brief interview with Mikael Kasurinen, the director of Control Resonant, at Gamescom LATAM, where they discussed Control Resonant’s development and design process as Remedy’s first melee-focused game. He stated, “Control was always a franchise that’s not about a single character. It’s about a world that has its own story, one that’s wide and complicated. It’s also the biggest game Remedy has ever made.” Kasurinen explained that as soon as Control came out, he promptly began work on Control Resonant and simply referred to it as the sequel to Control. The team went through numerous prototype stages and tweaked the game’s engine to accommodate the open-world concept of Control Resonant.

      Development Timeline and Process

According to Kasurinen, early experimentation and testing allowed the official production timeline to fall between two and three years. In the interview, he explained, “The early portion was more about concepting and thinking through what we were going to do and how we would do it. In the meantime, we were building processes, we were building our technology, we were creating tools, and basically preparing to go into pre-production and then full production with the game in the last two to three years.” Kasurinen described a process of “vision propagation” between the two phases, bridging the gap between production cycles. This was accomplished through brainstorming workshops with a group of leads from different disciplines who were envisioning the game’s fundamentals and high-level concepts.

      Team Communication and Challenges

Kasurinen continued, “Once we’re done with the early phases… they are committed.” After that, the leads return to their respective teams, gradually instructing them, communicating the game’s milestones, and adjusting their workload and tasks as needed. Kasurinen concluded: “If a team faces a wall and I can see the issues, I need to be able to step back and say, ‘Yep, it doesn’t work.’ We can let it go and find another way. But that thinking, that commitment, that investment, needs to work within the team, vertically all the way to the top. If it doesn’t, the team will start to fall apart and lose their sense of what’s true and what’s false.”

Gears of War: E-Day PS5 Pre-Order Leak Rumors Hit

      Key Takeaway

      – Gears of War: E-Day may launch as a multi-platform title, including PS5, based on a now-deleted Walmart listing.
      – The standalone Gears of War: E-Day Direct airs on June 7th, promising gameplay, release date, and pre-order details.
      – Microsoft has not officially confirmed platforms, but first-party titles like Halo: Campaign Evolved are also heading to PS5.
      – Fan backlash over promoting competing consoles is causing Microsoft to reconsider its multi-platform strategy.

Walmart Leak Hints at Big Change for Gears

A Walmart leak might have just confirmed that Gears of War: E-Day will be a multi-platform title, which is huge news. The now-deleted pre-order listing showed a Standard Edition PS5 version, before the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 ever even happened. Supporters have been increasingly lobbying Microsoft to reintroduce Xbox exclusive games to other consoles, and this seems like a direct response.

Price and Specs From The Listing

The $99.99 price for the tactical third-person shooter is likely just a placeholder, its not a final price. Its possible that the entire page is an error, but the store has previously posted correct information prematurely, so its not a sure thing. Viewers should see a comprehensive overview, including actual gameplay, during a standalone June 7th Direct event. Buyers may also finally learn the Gears of War: E-Day release date and pre-order details at that time.

Microsoft hasn’t clarified which platforms the latest effort from The Coalition studio will launch on, wich is frustrating for fans. Still, with other first-party titles like Halo: Campaign Evolved heading to the PS5, most players expect E-Day to follow that path. The Walmart listing already being live also suggests a day-one launch on multiple systems, meaning no timed exclusivity.

      Debate Over Xbox Exclusives Continues

The Games Showcase reignited a debate about the importance of Xbox exclusive games, and it got heated. Many fans complained when they realized the event would again promote competing consoles like the PS5. CEO Asha Sharma previously said that the company is reconsidering its multi-platform strategy, which is a shift. Responding to the outcry, it may limit the use of rival logos in future broadcasts to appease the angry fans.

      Comparing to PlayStation’s Strategy

Some analysts anticipate that the publisher could imitate PlayStation’s approach in some ways. While Sony has ported single-player titles to PC, it has resisted doing the same on Xbox consoles, keeping them exclusive. Now, leaks indicate they will confine all but live-service multiplayer candidates to the PS5, which is a different strategy. This might be the smartest move for them.

On its release date, Gears of War: E-Day should offer multiplayer options for sure. Otherwise, players can prepare for a narrative-driven solo experience that focuses on the story. It may have been a candidate for exclusivity, but Microsoft also has to factor in slowing hardware adoption rates. Recently, there have been signs that amid a “return to Xbox” initiative, sales have improved somewhat.

      Event Dates and Broadcast Times

The Xbox Games Showcase begins on June 7th at 1PM/7PM CEST, so mark your calenders. The Direct for the Gears of War prequel airs immediately after the livestream ends. Walmart Gears of War: E-Day PS5 leak(deleted) will be a major talking point until then.

      • Standard Edition PS5 listing was posted
      • Price is set at $99.99
      • Game is a tactical third-person shooter
      • June 7th Direct will show gameplay
