New 8BitDo Limited Edition Controllers Drop for Evo 2026

Just a few days after announcing the Arcade Stick in a new color, 8BitDo has announced three new limited edition controllers. The controllers are Evo 2026 Limited Editions of the Arcade Stick, Arcade Controller, and the M30 Bluetooth Gamepad. These new version’s are meant to celebrate the upcoming tournament.

The Arcade Stick’s Dark Purple Design

The Arcade Stick Evo 2026 Limited Edition comes in purple, but a darker shade than the one announced a few days ago. It also has the EVO (Evolution Championship Series) logo at the bottom right corner, while the glass panel has a fiery purple artwork. This is the premium stick they’ve offered for this year’s event.

    Transparent Purple Arcade Controller Details

On the other hand, the Evo 2026 Limited Edition Arcade Controller, has a transparent purple shell that is identical to the Transparent Purple Signature Edition (available on Amazon for $94.99) that was announced in December 2025. However, rather than a plain black glass plate, it also has the fiery purple artwork, albeit on a larger scale, like that of the Arcade Stick above. So basically the same shell with different artwork.

    M30 Gamepad Gets Fiery Flames

Finally, the Evo 2026 Limited Edition M30 Bluetooth Gamepad comes in black like one of the standard colors (available on Amazon for $29.99), but features a purple flame design below the D-pad and above the XYZ buttons. There’s also the EVO logo above the start button, while the words “Evolution Championship Series” are printed above the D-pad. This is a nice subtle look for fans.

    Limited Stock and Exclusivity

8BitDo says only 100 units of each controller have been produced, and they will be sold exclusively at the Evo 2026 championship, which begins on June 26 and ends on June 28 in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, 8BitDo didn’t reveal the prices for the controllers. So you’ll have to be at the event to grab one.

    • Arcade Stick: Dark purple shell with EVO logo and fiery purple glass artwork.
    • Arcade Controller: Transparent purple shell (like $94.99 version) with large fiery artwork.
    • M30 Gamepad: Black with purple flame design and EVO branding.
    • Production: Only 100 units of each controller.

In June 2025, 8BitDo released a software update that added compatibility with the Switch 2. The controller has two dedicated macro buttons, a dynamic button layout that changes when you switch input modes from Windows’s X-Input to that of the Nintendo Switch.

    Functionality and Customization

The controller, which connects via USB-C to a supported device, has a USB-C port at the bottom for pass-through charging.

      1. The new wireless controller, named Ultimate 3E, is designed for Xbox, PC, Apple, and Android devices.
      2. Key features include RGB lighting, trigger switches, 6-axis motion controls (only on PC), and a built-in wireless charging dock.

      4. Customization is enhanced with interchangeable joysticks, d-pads, ABXY modules, and a detachable front plate.
      5. The release is expected between April and late June 2026, with the price still to be announced.

At the close of the previous year, 8BitDo hinted at a new wireless game controller. From the single image released, it looked similar to the Ultimate 2 Wireless (currently priced at $59.99 on Amazon), but it didn’t have a name at that time. Instead, 8BitDo mentioned that the ‘Pro’ controller would be revealed at CES 2026.

      Unveiling the Ultimate 3E

Now, the company has disclosed that the secret controller is called the Ultimate 3E. This controller is made for Xbox and PC, and it also works with Apple and Android devices, along with the older Xbox One. In essence, the Ultimate 3E includes several features from its predecessor, the Ultimate 2 Wireless, like three shoulder buttons, TMR joysticks, two back buttons, and a built-in wireless charging dock.

      Enhanced Features

Furthermore, 8BitDo has added RGB lighting, trigger switches, and 6-axis motion controls. Sadly, the motion controls are only available on PC. Additionally, the 1,000 Hz polling rate mentioned by 8BitDo is not usable on Xbox consoles. Nonetheless, the Ultimate 3E takes a leap forward by offering a broader grip angle for improved comfort.

As illustrated in the images above and below, the Ultimate 3E allows for interchangeable joysticks, d-pads, ABXY modules, and even a detachable front plate. 8BitDo hasn’t disclosed a price yet, but they’ve suggested that the product will launch sometime between April and late June 2026.

Just like its competitor, GameSir, 8BitDo has made a announcement that it’ll be present at CES 2026. Not only will they display their current lineup, but they will also introduce a brand new controller.

      Unveiling the New Controller

As per a post on their social media, the new controller is set to be revealed during the tech event on January 5, 2026, at 8 AM PST. The post includes a teaser image of the controller. Features and Design

The teaser also shows an LED ring encircling the thumbstick, along with a uniquely thick and patterned joystick cap. Another notable feature is the textured grip on both the front and back of the controller, a departure from most 8BitDo models that typically have texture only on the underside.

It’s tough to tell exactly which model this controller is, but it appears to be a completely new design rather than a special edition of an existing one.
