RTS games may be fading away, with Microsoft appearing to be the sole company keeping the spark alive. For PlayStation users, two iconic titles that defined this genre are now available: Age of Mythology: Retold and Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition. Players can start enjoying Age of Mythology on PlayStation starting March 4.
Early Access and Expansion
Those who are eager to jump in can pay early to get a five-day early access, letting them play from February 27 along with the Immortal Pillars expansion. Plus, the game will feature cross-play capabilities right from the launch, allowing you to team up with friends who play on PC and Xbox. However, there’s still a wait ahead for gamers wanting to play Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition on PlayStation.
Release Dates
According to World’s Edge, the launch for this game is set for “spring,” although a specific date hasn’t been provided. In the meantime, Age of Mythology will keep you entertained. Lastly, Age of Empires IV is set to receive two new downloadable content packs in 2025. The first, titled Knights of Cross and Rose, is slated for a spring release. The details about the second DLC remain undisclosed, but it is anticipated to arrive later in 2025. Even Age of Empires Mobile, which includes pay-to-win mechanics, is getting fresh content this February.
