Performance and Powertrain

The BYD Shark features a plug-in hybrid powertrain with a dual-motor configuration. The front motor provides 170kW of power and 310Nm of torque, while the rear motor offers 150kW and 340Nm of torque. This setup enables the Shark to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 5.7 seconds and achieve a top speed of 160 kilometers per hour.

Equipped with a 29.58kWh battery pack, the Shark offers a pure electric NEDC range of 100 kilometers. When operating in combined gasoline-electric mode, its NEDC range extends to 840 kilometers. BYD reports a fuel consumption rate of 7.5 liters per 100 kilometers.

Interior and Technology

The interior of the Shark is designed with the driver in mind, featuring a 10.25-inch LCD instrument panel, a large 12.8-inch central touchscreen for infotainment, and a futuristic 12-inch head-up display (HUD). It also supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless smartphone integration.

For increased safety and visibility, the Shark includes a 360° panoramic view camera system and a 180° chassis camera. This combination delivers a comprehensive 540° ultra-wide transparent panoramic image, reducing blind spots and aiding in maneuvering.

The BYD Shark represents the automaker's entry into the competitive mid-sized pickup truck market, initially focusing on regions outside of China.
