South African website reveals Huawei Nova Y72, possibly a rebranded version of Enjoy 70

Huawei Nova Y72: A Sneak Peek at the Upcoming Smartphone

Huawei's South African website has quietly introduced a new smartphone, the Nova Y72, with a "coming soon" tag. Upon closer inspection, it appears that the Nova Y72 is a rebranded version of the Enjoy 70 smartphone, which Huawei released in China in December last year.

The Nova Y72 serves as the successor to the Nova Y71 for the international market. Let's delve into the details of this eagerly awaited device.

Design and Features

The Nova Y72 shares many design aspects with the Enjoy 70. It sports a rectangular camera setup on the rear, a U-shaped notch on the front, and a dedicated X button for quick access to apps.

Display and Performance

Although Huawei hasn't revealed much about the Nova Y72's specifications, we can make some educated guesses based on its Chinese counterpart. Expect a 6.75-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and a standard 60Hz refresh rate. Powering the phone is likely the Kirin 710A chipset, a three-year-old processor that supports only 4G network connectivity.

Battery and Camera

One of the highlights of the Nova Y72 is its substantial 6,000mAh battery, which is the same as the Enjoy 70. Additionally, the camera setup is expected to be identical, featuring a 50MP main sensor along with a secondary lens. The phone will come pre-installed with Huawei's EMUI custom Android interface.

Pricing and Availability

Huawei has unveiled the Nova Y72 in Green and Black color options, with an initial price tag of ZAR 4,999 (approximately $265). While the specific memory configurations have not been disclosed yet, more details about the smartphone are expected to emerge soon.

Moreover, Huawei plans to sweeten the deal by offering a complimentary gift with the purchase of the Nova Y72. Buyers will receive a neckband and, as indicated in the teaser, most likely a lamp valued at ZAR 1,798.

Stay tuned for further updates on the Huawei Nova Y72 as it makes its way into the South African market.
