As per the report, the Galaxy S24 Ultra marks Samsung’s debut in featuring a titanium frame on its devices. Depending on the market response, the company may contemplate extending titanium integration to other models in its lineup. Contrary to prior speculations suggesting an across-the-board titanium frame implementation in the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung is now focusing on the S24 Ultra model. Initial plans include the production of 15 million titanium frames, aligning with the anticipated sales figures of Galaxy S23 Ultra units.
Years of R&D Culminate in Titanium Integration
Over the last couple of years, Samsung has diligently been exploring the incorporation of titanium into its smartphones. The decision to introduce this robust material has been recently solidified. While the current aluminum frames cost Samsung $20, the limited success rate in titanium adoption could potentially escalate the manufacturing cost by four to five times.
