Leaked: Oppo K12 expected to come with Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor

The Oppo K series is a lower mid-range smartphone lineup that is sold in both China and select global markets. However, it is important to note that the models sold in China differ from the ones available internationally, as the Chinese variants offer better features at a competitive price.

The current-gen K series phone in China is the Oppo K11, which was launched in late July 2023. Now, there are leaks about its successor, the Oppo K12, specifically regarding its chipset.

According to Digital Chat Station, the Oppo K12 will be powered by a Qualcomm SM7500 chip, which belongs to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC. It is worth mentioning that there are currently no handsets on the market featuring this chipset. However, since the chip is official, it is known to be a downgrade from its predecessor, the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2.

Unfortunately, the tipster did not provide any additional details about the Oppo K12. However, in response to a comment, they did mention that the price-to-performance ratio will be good, but the display may not be impressive.

For comparison, the Oppo K11, which is the predecessor of the Oppo K12, is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 782G chip. It features a 6.7-inch flat AMOLED display with a resolution of 2412 x 1080 pixels (FHD+) and a 120Hz refresh rate.

In terms of camera capabilities, the Oppo K11 has a triple camera system on the rear, including a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide unit, and a 2MP macro snapper. On the front, it boasts a 16MP selfie camera.

Additional features of the Oppo K11 include dual stereo speakers, a MicroSD card slot, a 5,000mAh battery, and 100W wired charging support.

It is worth noting that the Oppo K11 is also known as the OnePlus Nord CE 3 in global markets. Therefore, it is possible that the upcoming Oppo K12 could be rebranded as the OnePlus Nord CE 4.

Overall, the Oppo K series continues to offer affordable options with competitive features, and the Oppo K12 is expected to follow suit with its Qualcomm SM7500 chip. While there are still some details yet to be revealed, it will be interesting to see how the Oppo K12 performs in terms of its price-to-performance ratio and display quality.
