Lenovo has made a strategic decision to introduce its Legion branded gaming tablets globally, tapping into the expanding mobile gaming market. The latest offering, known as the Lenovo Legion Tab, is essentially a global version of the Legion Tab Y700 2023 model previously exclusive to China.

The Legion Tab showcases an 8.8-inch display, which, while relatively compact for consumer tablets, is favored for gaming due to enhanced control. Noteworthy is Lenovo's inclusion of a QHD+ resolution PureSight gaming panel boasting a 144Hz refresh rate, ideal for gaming experiences. The panel offers decent brightness at 500 nits and covers the DCI-P3 color gamut.
Design and Performance
Measuring 208.54 x 129.46 x 7.6 mm and weighing 350 grams, the tablet features a sleek metal finish on its back and sides. Enhancing gaming immersion, Lenovo has integrated a haptic system and dual speakers tuned with Dolby Atmos. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and Legion ColdFront: Vapor thermal solution, the tablet packs 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, 256GB internal storage (expandable up to 1TB via microSD), and a 6550mAh battery supporting 45W fast charging through USB Type-C.
Gaming Experience and Software
Testing has shown the Legion Tab Y700 2023 capable of running games smoothly, such as PUGB Mobile at 90 FPS and Genshin Impact at 60 FPS. The tablet is also compatible with cloud gaming platform Boosteroid, offering Xbox Game Pass subscription games. Running on Android 13 with updates planned up to Android 15, the tablet includes a gaming assistant software and a camera setup comprising 13MP primary, 2MP macro, and 8MP selfie cameras.
Connectivity and Launch Details
In terms of connectivity, the tablet supports Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6E. The Lenovo Legion Tab is slated for release in the EMEA and Asia regions from March 2024, with prices starting at EUR 599.
