BYD has recently introduced the Seagull Honor Edition, which offers a more budget-friendly price range compared to its predecessor. The starting price is now set at 69,800 yuan (~$9,700), which is 4,000 yuan lower than before. This edition is available in three trim levels: Vitality (69,800 yuan/$9,700), Free (75,800 yuan/$10,530), and Flying (85,800 yuan/$11,920).
Trim Levels and Pricing
BYD has provided a choice between two battery options for the Seagull Honor Edition. Despite the reduced pricing, this compact car maintains dimensions of 3780mm in length, 1715mm in width, and 1540mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2500mm. Standard features include Bluetooth, NFC keyless entry, 4G car connectivity, and navigation.
Battery Options and Performance
All models of the Seagull Honor Edition are powered by a single electric motor with a maximum power of 55kW and peak torque of 135Nm, enabling the car to accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in 4.9 seconds. The standard model comes with a 30.08kWh battery providing a CLTC pure electric range of 305km, while the top-tier Flying version offers a 38.88kWh battery extending the range to 405km.
Safety and Features
The Seagull Honor Edition is equipped with essential safety features such as airbags, parking sensors, rear camera, and cruise control. The Flying variant enhances safety with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) like adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, lane departure warning, and traffic sign recognition. The base Vitality trim features 15-inch steel wheels, while the Free and Flying trims come with 16-inch alloy wheels. Common features across all trims include LED headlights, imitation leather steering wheel, wireless phone charging, and power windows with anti-pinch functionality for the driver’s window.
