As per recent reports, Xiaomi is developing the Mix Flip to compete with clamshell foldable phones. However, a trusted tipster, Digital Chat Station, has now disclosed new insights about the Mix Flip on Weibo.
Xiaomi Mix Flip Update
Digital Chat Station revealed that Xiaomi ultimately decided not to include satellite communication in the Mix Flip. Instead, the foldable clamshell phone will feature a telephoto camera and a larger battery. While specific battery details remain undisclosed, earlier reports suggested a 50MP primary lens and a telephoto unit supporting 3x zoom. The Mix Flip's cover screen and camera setup boast a minimalist design, with the internal screen reportedly free of any visible creases.
Mix Fold 4 on the Horizon
Reports indicate that alongside the Mix Flip, Xiaomi will also introduce the Mix Fold 4. Unlike Xiaomi and Honor's book-style foldable phones, other brands like Samsung, OPPO, Vivo, and Huawei offer both clamshell and horizontal folding options. According to Digital Chat Station, the Mix Fold 4 is expected to be remarkably slim and lightweight, featuring a 50MP quad-camera configuration with a periscope lens.
