Recently, an upcoming Xiaomi phone, potentially the Xiaomi Civi 4, was approved by China's MIIT authority under the model number 24053PY09C. Speculations suggest that this device might be making its way to the Indian market with a rebranded name, Xiaomi 14 Lite.
Xiaomi 14 Lite Receives BIS Certification
An alleged Xiaomi 14 Lite device, identified by the model number 24053PY09I, has surfaced in India's BIS authority database. This model number closely resembles the CMIIT-certified 24053PY09C phone, believed to be the Xiaomi Civi 4. This hints at a possibility of a modified version of the Civi 4 targeting the Indian market.
To recap, a revised Xiaomi Civi 2 was introduced globally as the Xiaomi 13 Lite. Therefore, it is conceivable that the Civi 4 may also undergo rebranding or modifications for its Indian release, potentially as the Xiaomi 14 Lite.
Lite Series Expansion for India
Xiaomi unveiled the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G in October 2021 but had not introduced a "Lite"-branded smartphone in the current year. While models like the Xiaomi 12 Lite and Xiaomi 13 Lite were launched in other regions, they were not brought to the Indian market. It seems that the company might be reintroducing a Lite-branded phone with the upcoming 14 series for Indian consumers.
In terms of specifications, the Xiaomi Civi 4 is anticipated to sport a curved-edge OLED display boasting a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is likely to feature a dual front-facing camera setup with an LED flash and a 50-megapixel main camera on the back, engineered by Leica with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) support. The device is expected to house a 5,000mAh battery with 90W fast charging capabilities.
