Decathlon has revealed the Rockrider E-EXPL 900 26″ electric mountain bike during the Roc d’Azur 2024 event. This latest model is tailored for kids and is not anticipated to be available until 2025. It's the second electric bike for children from Rockrider, following the E-ST 500 26” that debuted last year.
Key Features and Specifications
The E-EXPL 900 is equipped with a Mahle X30 rear hub motor that provides a torque of up to 45 Nm, which adds approximately 1.9 kg (~4.2 lbs) to the overall weight of the bike. It boasts a 237Wh battery cleverly concealed within the bike’s frame, offering an assistance range of 60 to 100 km (~37 to 62 miles), depending on various conditions. Additional specifications of this 9-speed model include a Microshift Advent M6195 rear derailleur, an 80 mm travel RockShox Judy RK suspension fork, Hutchinson Toro 26” tires, and Tektro hydraulic disc brakes. The total weight of the bike is around 16 kg (~35 lbs), making it suitable for children who are between 135 and 150 cm (~4’ 5” and 4’ 11” inches) in height.
Pricing and Availability
According to one report, the Decathlon Rockrider E-EXPL 900 26″ kids electric mountain bike is set to hit the European market in September 2025 with a price tag of about €1,800. Another source agrees with this pricing but suggests that the bike may launch earlier, in May 2025.
