    While Motorola entered the foldable phone market early with the first-gen Moto Razr in 2020, they have mostly focused on the clamshell design. This changes now with the introduction of the new Moto Razr Fold, marking the company’s first effort in the book-style foldable segment.

    Moto Razr Fold Unveiled

    The Moto Razr Fold was initially showcased at the beginning of the year but has officially launched now. It aims to compete with devices like the Galaxy Z Fold7. When opened, the Razr Fold features an 8.1-inch display and a 6.6-inch cover display. This cover display is unique as it is the first smartphone to use Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection.

    Size and Battery Life

    In terms of thickness, it doesn’t quite set any records for 2026. When unfolded, it measures 4.6mm and 9.9mm when folded, making it thicker than other models like the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Oppo Find N5. Nonetheless, it boasts a 6,000 mAh battery, which surpasses the 4,400 mAh and 5,600 mAh batteries found in its competitors.

    Impressive Camera Features

    On the camera front, the Razr Fold is well-equipped. It includes a 50 MP main camera, a 50 MP periscope camera with 3x zoom, a 50 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 20 MP front-facing camera. Powering this device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip, which is different from the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 found in many flagship phones this year. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is a bit less powerful but performs similarly to last year’s Snapdragon 8 Elite.

    Specifications and Availability

    Additional features of the Moto Razr Fold are impressive, with 16 GB of RAM and options for up to 1 TB of storage. It supports 80 W wired charging and 50 W wireless charging, along with the Moto Pen Ultra and promises of up to seven years of Android upgrades and security patches. The foldable will come in three colors: Pantone Blackened Blue, Pantone Lily White, and a special FIFA World Cup 26™ Collection. It will be available globally, will ship with the Moto Pen Ultra, and has a retail price of €1,999. Pre-orders are already open.
