Meizu 21 Pro: Speculations of a Pro Model Resurface
Rumors about the release of a Meizu 21 Pro have been circulating since Meizu deviated from its usual dual-release strategy in December 2023. Instead of launching both a standard model and a Pro variant, the company introduced only the Meizu 21. This led to speculations that Meizu might be abandoning the Pro line altogether. Last month, two Meizu devices with model numbers M481Q and M481S received approval from China’s MIIT certification platform. It is widely believed that these model numbers are associated with the Meizu 21 Pro. Now, the same models have surfaced in the database of China’s 3C certification.
According to the 3C certification, the alleged Meizu 21 Pro may come with an 80W fast charger. The certification mentions a power brick (UP2040) that suggests similar fast-charging capabilities to the Meizu 21. This indicates that the Meizu 21 Pro is likely to support 80W wired charging. As a Pro model, it may also feature support for 50W wireless charging.
Meizu 21 Pro: What to Expect
Concrete details about the Meizu 21 Pro are still scarce, but it is expected to have a larger display compared to the Meizu 21. The Meizu 21 is equipped with a 6.55-inch AMOLED screen, so the Pro variant may offer a bigger and possibly higher-resolution display, potentially supporting 2K resolution. Like the standard model, the Pro variant is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
In terms of battery capacity, recent reports suggest that the Meizu 21 Pro may house a 5,020mAh battery, which would be larger than the 4,800mAh battery found in the Meizu 21. Additionally, the Pro variant’s rear camera module may include a telephoto or a periscope telephoto camera.
