The information comes from a reliable Weibo source, who notes the processor was previously referenced under the Ryzen 7 9755HX3D designation before the company settled on a naming scheme that aligns more closely with its popular desktop counterpart, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D.
A First for Mobile X3D
If the reported specifications hold, the Ryzen 7 9800HX3D would mark a significant shift in AMD’s mobile lineup. The processor reportedly features 8 cores and 16 threads, a boost clock of up to 5.1 GHz, and a substantial 96 MB of L3 cache. Until now, every AMD laptop offering equipped with 3D V-Cache has been a 16-core, halo-tier SKU. This would be the company’s first 8-core mobile X3D processor, opening the technology to a different class of gaming notebooks.
Greater Flexibility for Manufacturers
