The 2024 edition originally relied on wood-grain vinyl and faux leather accents. Those have been eliminated in favor of physical wood surfaces that extend to the motherboard itself. The range-topping configuration uses a Gigabyte X870E Aero X3D Dark Wood board, its heatsinks visibly patterned to match the case’s natural theme. Buyers can optionally select an Asus ProArt graphics card with matching wood accents at no additional cost; otherwise, Optimist fits a Zotac Solid SFF OC as standard, with the highest-tier build shipping with a GeForce RTX 5090.

Inside, the Nocturne’s illumination strategy leans deliberately away from the rainbow defaults common in the category. An integrated LED strip runs along the bottom edge to highlight the graphics card, while the RAM module strip, an NZXT Kraken Elite 240 all-in-one cooler, and six Corsair iCUE Link LX120 RGB PWM fans are all tuned to emit a consistent warm white glow. The overall effect is intended to complement the wood and brass rather than compete with it.
