    Insta360 Link 2 & 2C Leaks: 4K Webcams with Auto-Framing & HDR

Ahead of the official launch of the Insta360 Ace Pro 2, new information has emerged, but it does not focus on the action camera itself. Instead, the latest details give an in-depth look at the forthcoming Insta360 Link 2 and Link 2C webcams, which are rumored to cater to professionals and content creators.

    Features of Insta360 Link 2

The Insta360 Link 2 introduces Auto Framing, which uses a built-in gimbal along with AI technology to automatically keep one or more subjects centered in the frame. This version also includes a Whiteboard Mode that utilizes AI algorithms to enhance the visibility of whiteboard content during presentations. Additionally, it offers a portrait mode and the ability to record uncropped 4K vertical video. For security-minded users, the Privacy Mode is a highlight; it tilts the gimbal down after 10 seconds of inactivity or can be manually adjusted at any time. The DeskView Mode allows the camera to tilt down to capture content on the desk, making it ideal for recording product demonstrations and collaborating with remote teams.

    Enhanced Audio and Tracking

Another impressive feature of the Link 2 is AI Noise Cancellation, which improves voice clarity by eliminating unwanted background noise. It also features AI Tracking with a 2-axis gimbal that helps keep the subject in focus, even while they move around.

Compact Design of Insta360 Link 2C

The Insta360 Link 2C, although smaller, includes 4K UHD Resolution and Auto-Adjust Framing. It boasts an HDR mode and a Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) system for quick and precise focusing. Additionally, it offers a Gesture Control feature, enabling users to manage different settings through hand gestures. Unlike the Link 2, the Link 2C has a built-in privacy shutter instead of a gimbal-based privacy mode. It supports USB-C connectivity and comes with a magnetic mount for easy setup.

Based on the extensive leaks available, both the Insta360 Link 2 and Link 2C appear to serve a variety of purposes, ranging from virtual meetings and presentations to content creation and streaming. The Link 2 stands out as the more feature-rich model, while the Link 2C provides a more compact and straightforward option without losing essential capabilities. Currently, there is no information regarding pricing and availability, but more details are anticipated in the coming days.

  • Bounce Imaging Launches First 360-Degree Throwable Thermal Camera

Bounce Imaging Launches First 360-Degree Throwable Thermal Camera

At the annual conference of the National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA), Bounce Imaging introduced its latest innovations in throwable camera technology. The Pit Viper 360, named after the snake’s capability to detect infrared radiation, employs six thermal imaging cores to generate a panoramic view of its surroundings when thrown. This compact camera, about the size of a softball, transmits video feeds, stabilizes itself, and is highly portable. Users can control all its functions through the associated app.

    Features and Comparisons

The announcement did not clarify whether the Pit Viper 360 would feature the same functionalities as Bounce Imaging’s other 360 cameras. For instance, the Explorer camera has two-way audio, permitting users to communicate and hear what’s occurring around the camera. There is also a 4G LTE model that enhances the range of its use. However, this cellular capability is made possible through a collaboration with Verizon and requires a cloud subscription from Bounce Imaging.

    Reception Among Users

First responders and defense personnel have shown a positive response to the device. Bounce Imaging has designed its tactical cameras for a wide range of applications. Numerous local and federal agencies have acquired many of these cameras for tasks like safety and rescue missions, crisis negotiation, K-9 operations, and special operations.

    Pricing Expectations

With starting prices for the cameras at $4,000, it is unlikely that the Pit Viper 360 will be priced lower than that. While it may not appeal to regular consumers, the advanced features of the Pit Viper 360 are expected to attract interest from governmental agencies.

Samsung One UI 6.1.1 Update Limits Galaxy S23 Camera Features

Samsung began distributing the latest One UI 6.1.1 update on September 16, 2024, targeting the Galaxy S23 series, Z Fold 5 / Z Flip 5, along with various other models. However, this update has introduced several issues. Users have started to share on X (previously known as Twitter) that their camera functionality has been compromised. We urge Samsung to promptly address and resolve the camera issue affecting the Galaxy S23 series.

Galaxy S23 Series Experiences Camera Issues

Samsung must ensure more rigorous testing of its updates. The released One UI 6.1.1 update has reduced the camera performance of the Galaxy S23 series, which is concerning. This issue has been identified in the update with build number CXH7. Particularly, users of the Galaxy S23 Ultra have reported that the camera application produces blurry images when zooming between 16x and 19.9x. Users are requesting that Samsung release a corrective update quickly.

    Temporary Solutions and Security Concerns

Tarun Vats, an observer of One UI developments, mentions that the issue can be mitigated by setting the camera optimization to medium or minimum. However, it is unreasonable for users to have to adjust their settings. Additionally, the One UI 6.1.1 update includes the August security patch, which is outdated. Initially, Samsung was scheduled to roll out One UI 6.1.1 by the end of August and could have incorporated a camera fix with a September security patch.

  • DJI Air 3S Leak: Larger Battery and Features Revealed Before Launch

DJI Air 3S Leak: Larger Battery and Features Revealed Before Launch

DJI’s upcoming Air series drone is nearly confirmed, even though the company hasn’t officially mentioned plans to replace the Air 2S or Air 3. The drone has been identified in the public database of the Federal Communication Commission (FCC). While getting FCC certification doesn’t guarantee a product launch, it has frequently indicated future releases for DJI in recent times.

    New Drone Details

Recently, DJI launched a lightweight 135 g drone named the Neo, currently priced at $199 on Amazon. There are indications that DJI might also be working on an update related to first-person view (FPV) for this new compact drone, with further details available in a separate article. In contrast, the FCC certification has focused on the Air 3S, and notably, it mentions the drone by name even before its official announcement.

    Battery and Features

The FCC has also disclosed that the Air 3S will come equipped with a new battery that has a capacity of 4,276 mAh (62.5 Wh). This means that the Air 3S will have a larger battery compared to the Air 3. However, a 25 mAh increase in capacity is not likely to significantly enhance battery life between these two models. According to recent speculation, DJI may introduce some camera upgrades with the Air 3S, including a new 1-inch type camera sensor. The company is anticipated to unveil the Air 3S sometime in late September or early October.
