Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro: Launch Date and Key Specifications Officially Confirmed

Several reports have been claiming that Xiaomi is gearing up to launch a new tablet in China. Today, the brand finally confirmed that it will announce a flagship tablet dubbed the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro alongside the Xiaomi 14 Ultra on Feb. 22 in China. The brand released the following posters to confirm the design and key specifications of the new tablet.

Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro key specifications

The official images released by the brand only look at the front design of the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro. However, the device may likely sport the same design language as the Pad 6, Pad 6 Pro, and Pad 6 Max tablets that were announced last year. As can be seen, Xiaomi will also offer accessories like a magnetic keyboard and a stylus for the buyers of the Pad 6S Pro.

The Pad 6S Pro is confirmed to feature a 12.4-inch LCD panel that will produce a 3K resolution, an aspect ratio of 3:2, a 144Hz refresh rate, and 900 nits of peak brightness. The tablet will draw power from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, and its topmost configuration will have 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage.

    Key Features and Connectivity

Xiaomi is yet to reveal the battery size of the Pad 6S Pro, but it has confirmed that it will support 120W fast charging. In addition, the tablet will offer seamless connectivity with other Xiaomi devices as it will come preloaded with the HyperOS-based Android. The tablet will support Wi-Fi 7 connectivity.

    Camera and Global Market Availability

There is no information about the camera capabilities of the Pad 6S Pro. The tablet may likely inherit the 50-megapixel + 2-megapixel rear camera setup and a 20-megapixel front camera that was made available on the Pad 6 Pro / Max models. The Pad 6 6S Pro has also bagged a couple of certifications for the global market, which suggests that it will also be released in markets outside of China.

Leaked photos show Vivo Pad 3 and Pad 3 Pro featuring LCD display and top-of-the-line chipsets

Vivo is reportedly gearing up for a big product launch in China soon, expected to reveal several new devices. Among the expected devices are the Vivo X Fold 3 series smartphones, the Vivo X100s smartphone, and the Vivo Pad 3 and Pad 3 Pro tablets.

    Rumors and Updates

Rumors about these upcoming releases have been circulating for a while. In a recent update, Digitial Chat Station shared some new information about the Vivo Pad 3 series tablets.

    Vivo Pad 3 Specifications

According to the tipster, the standard Vivo Pad 3 will feature an LCD screen and will run on the new Qualcomm SM8635 processor. The tipster also previously leaked the core configuration of the SOC, revealing a 2.9GHz ARM Cortex X4 core paired with an Adreno 735 GPU. Impressively, the process was reportedly able to achieve an impressive AnTuTu score of 1.7 million which is what we’re used to seeing on Snapdragon 8-series SoCs. So earlier leaks have hinted it could be a lite version of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

    Vivo Pad 3 Pro Features

On the other hand, the Vivo Pad 3 Pro is expected to sport a 3K resolution LCD display and will be powered by the Dimensity 9300 chipset. Additionally, it’s been hinted that the Pad 3 Pro will support rapid 80W charging, while the Pad 3 may come with a slightly lower 66W charging capability (although there’s slightly less certainty on this detail). A Vivo tablet with model number PA2473 recently grabbed China’s 3C certification with 66W charging. So the Vivo Pad 3 might indeed come with the 66W charging.

We’ll keep you posted with any further updates on the Vivo Pad 3 series tablets.

The specifications of the global edition have not been revealed by any of the recent certifications. However, the Chinese version of the tablet was spotted with a 120W charger during 3C certification. With the tablet receiving multiple certifications, it is expected to launch in the coming weeks.

  • Storage Upgrade Offer Now Available for Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Series

Storage Upgrade Offer Now Available for Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Series

Last week, Samsung started offering storage upgrade promotions for the Galaxy Tab A9 Plus in the US. Up until then, this offer was limited to the Galaxy S series smartphones.

Samsung Extends Storage Upgrade Offer to Galaxy Tab S9 Series

Just a few days later, the same offer is now available for the high-end Galaxy Tab S9 family as well. Buyers can avail of benefits on all three models.

    Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra

Samsung has extended the storage upgrade offer to the WiFi variants of the Galaxy Tab S9 series in the US. Thus, consumers can now get the higher storage model for the price of the base model from Samsung.com

This means the 12GB + 256B version of the Galaxy Tab S9 now costs the same as the 8GB + 128GB variant ($799.99) instead of $919.99. The base variant cannot be ordered, at least for the time being.

It is clever of Samsung to upsell the higher variant by discounting it, rather than bringing down the starting price by offering a discount on the base model.

Similarly, the 12GB + 512GB memory configurations of Galaxy Tab S9 Plus and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra are available for $999.99 and $1199.99, respectively. They would normally cost $1199.99 and $1319.99, respectively.

The only variant that’s not on discount is the top-end 16GB + 1TB version of Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. This one is still listed at its launch price of $1619.99.

On top of the storage upgrade offer, buyers can avail trade-in bonus to further lower the price of these tablets.

That being said, we are not sure how long this offer will be valid. Also, we have no info on if and when this promotion will be made available in other regions.

  • Possible Development of Pixel Tablet 2 Implied by Codenames in Android 14 QPR3 Beta 1

Possible Development of Pixel Tablet 2 Implied by Codenames in Android 14 QPR3 Beta 1

Recent findings from the latest Android 14 QPR3 beta release suggest that Google is gearing up for the development of a next-generation Pixel Tablet 2. The discovery of two new codenames, “Clementine” and “Kiyomi,” alongside established naming conventions in Google’s internal development process, indicates a continuation of the Pixel Tablet series.

The codename “Citron” indicates a Pixel Tablet iteration under development

Previously, the Pixel Tablet project was associated with codenames like “Tangor” and “Tangorpro,” with the latter eventually becoming the released Pixel Tablet last year. The presence of additional codenames like “Citron” hinted at the possibility of other tablet iterations in development. Moreover, internal references to two versions of the tablet’s bundled dock, named “Korlan” and “Yuzu,” suggest Google’s intention to offer multiple accessories for the Pixel Tablet lineup, possibly including a charging-only dock.

The association of these codenames with fruits, particularly those in the citrus family, has been a consistent theme throughout Google’s Pixel Tablet development process. In horticulture, a tangor refers to a hybrid citrus fruit resulting from crossing a sweet orange with another citrus variety. Common examples of tangors include clementines and kiyomi, with the latter originating in Japan.

The Pixel Tablet 2 may upgrade to an OLED screen from the Pixel Tablet’s IPS LCD one

While the specifics of the new Pixel Tablet 2 remain uncertain, speculation points towards an enhanced device with potential features such as an OLED screen with a high refresh rate, support for a Pixel Stylus and Keyboard, and compatibility with a variety of accessories beyond a simple dock. These predictions align with the desires of users, including those outside of the Apple ecosystem who seek a premium tablet experience for tasks like architecture.

The unveiling of “Clementine” and “Kiyomi” in the Android 14 QPR3 Beta 1 builds anticipation for the future of Google’s tablet offerings. While there are no concrete details available yet, the citrus-themed codenames suggest that the Pixel Tablet 2 could be on the horizon. However, it’s important to approach these predictions with caution, as Google’s plans may evolve or change over time.
