Vivo V40 Lite Specs & Design Leaked Ahead of Launch

The Vivo V40 Lite is gearing up for its debut as a mid-range smartphone in the near future. Recently, this model has been seen on Bluetooth SIG and GCF certification sites, and a new leak has unveiled more about its specs and design. Let’s dive into the details.

Vivo V40 Lite Leak: What You Should Know

The information comes from well-known tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore, who shared it with 91Mobiles. Although the V40 Lite had appeared on the IMEI database before, those certifications didn’t disclose any significant details. However, the latest leak has provided a comprehensive look at the specs and design. This global variant of the V40 Lite is expected to be released in the European market.

According to the leaked images, the Vivo V40 Lite features a curved edge design with slim bezels and a centrally-aligned punch-hole cutout. The back has a large circular camera island that includes the Aura ring LED light. The volume rockers and power buttons are located on the right side. The middle frame seems to be made from plastic. The device is available in at least two color options: White and Maroon.

    Key Specifications

The leak indicates that the Vivo V40 Lite may come with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution. It is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. For photography, the rear camera setup includes a 50-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel sensor. The front is equipped with a 32-megapixel selfie camera.

A robust 5,500mAh battery powers the device, supporting 44W wired fast charging. Other notable features include an in-display fingerprint scanner, dual SIM support, IP64 water and dust resistance, and 8GB virtual RAM expansion support. It is expected to run on Android 14 OS with the FunTouch OS custom skin out of the box.

  • Oppo Find X8: Telephoto Macro Camera, 5000mAh+ Battery Expected

Oppo Find X8: Telephoto Macro Camera, 5000mAh+ Battery Expected

Oppo is anticipated to unveil the Find X8 this October. Meanwhile, the Find X8 Ultra is expected to debut in the first quarter of 2025. As the launch approaches, more details about the Find X8 series are emerging, with a recent leak from tipster Smart Pikachu providing insights into the telephoto camera and battery size of the X8.

Oppo Find X8 Telephoto Macro Camera and Battery Size Leak

According to the information, Oppo is testing a telephoto macro lens for the Find X8 series. While a telephoto lens typically captures clearer images of distant objects, a telephoto macro lens combines this capability with that of a macro lens, allowing it to capture detailed shots of both distant subjects and very small, close-up objects.

When questioned about the battery size of the Find X8, the leaker mentioned it would be over 5,000mAh. This suggests the battery could range from 5,100mAh to 5,500mAh. Previous reports indicate that the Find X8 will feature the Dimensity 9400 chipset, which is based on TSMC’s advanced second-generation 3nm N3E process.

    Configuration and Performance Enhancements

In terms of configuration, the D9400 chip is expected to include one Cortex-X5 super core running at 3.4GHz, three Cortex-X4 super cores, and four Cortex-A7 series large cores. This new chipset is projected to offer significant improvements over its predecessor, including a 34 percent reduction in power consumption and an 18 percent increase in performance at the same power and complexity levels.

The Find X8 Ultra is speculated to come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. Additionally, there are rumors about a third model, tentatively named the Find X8 Pro. However, there is currently no solid evidence to confirm its existence.

  • iOS 18: Advanced AI Features Might Miss Launch, Says Ming-Chi Kuo

iOS 18: Advanced AI Features Might Miss Launch, Says Ming-Chi Kuo

Just before the WWDC24 event, industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shares his insights about iOS 18 and Apple’s forthcoming announcements. There have been ongoing discussions about Apple integrating AI features into its future devices. Kuo confirms that the company is set to reveal several AI advancements. The WWDC24 keynote session is scheduled to begin at 10:30 PM IST on June 10 (today).

    AI Integration in iOS 18

Kuo anticipates that Apple will embed robust functionalities throughout iOS 18 and its system applications. Siri, Apple’s AI assistant, is expected to receive a significant upgrade, as previously reported. However, Kuo points out that the capabilities of on-device AI functions will be constrained by the 8GB memory size, which is insufficient for the large language model. To address this, Apple plans to merge local and server-side LLMs for its AI features.

    Phased Rollout of Server-Side AI

Interestingly, Kuo does not view Apple’s AI advancements as a breakthrough in the field. Nonetheless, he predicts that Apple’s substantial investment in machine learning and artificial intelligence over recent years will yield benefits in the long run. His research indicates that the shipment volume of the iPhone 16 series in Q2 2024 might be slightly lower compared to the same period last year.

The server-side LLMs require more time to train compared to smaller on-device models. Kuo suggests that the more sophisticated server-dependent features may be introduced in phases rather than being fully launched with the iPhone 16 series. Advanced AI features are expected to be available on the iPhone 15 Pro models and newer, alongside the iPhone 16 series.

    Apple's AI Partnerships

There have been reports about Apple’s collaborations with OpenAI and Google for server-side AI features. However, Kuo downplays the significance of these partnerships. He believes that Apple’s cooperation will primarily focus on the “encapsulation model” for user and application interaction.

In conclusion, Kuo asserts that post-WWDC24, Apple will no longer be viewed as a company lagging behind in the AI race.

  • Xiaomi 15 Pro Camera Specs: Triple Setup, OmniVision OV50K Sensor

Xiaomi 15 Pro Camera Specs: Triple Setup, OmniVision OV50K Sensor

Xiaomi has unveiled its Xiaomi 14 Ultra, indicating that the brand may soon move on to the Xiaomi 15 series. These new phones are expected to be released shortly after the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processors make their debut. While there’s been some buzz about the Xiaomi 15 series, specific details remain scarce.

    Camera Specifications

According to Weibo blogger @体验more, the Xiaomi 15 Pro will feature a triple-camera setup, headlined by a potent 50MP main sensor (likely the OV50K) that employs advanced TheiaCel technology for enhanced low-light performance and dynamic range.

The telephoto lens will incorporate a 50MP IMX882 sensor, which offers a minor resolution decrease compared to the OV64B when zoomed digitally. Nonetheless, it promises improved power efficiency and superior zoom capabilities over its predecessor.

    Sensor Features

The standout feature is the main sensor, the OV50K, which boasts a sizable 1/1.3-inch format and 1.2-micron pixels for remarkable light capture. It supports functionalities like 4-in-1 pixel binning for better low-light performance, high frame rates, and even 8K video recording. This sensor is already utilized in devices such as the Honor Magic 6 Pro.

    Display and Processor

Earlier reports suggest a redesign of the camera module into a square layout. The Xiaomi 15 Pro is expected to sport a 2K resolution display with a micro-curved design. The device is anticipated to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip.

Regarding the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, this forthcoming chip is reported to offer significant improvements over its predecessor. Reports indicate that the performance core of the SoC can operate up to 4.2GHz. Furthermore, the chip is said to exceed 3,000 points in single-core and 10,000 points in multi-core tests on Geekbench. However, this new chip will be costly, and Chinese brands might struggle to keep their prices competitive. Consequently, an affordable flagship featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 seems unlikely.

Anker, a prominent brand in mobile accessories, has announced a recall of a particular model of its portable power bank due to a possible fire risk. The product in question is the Anker 321 Portable Power Bank (PowerCore 5K, Model A1112), with units manufactured after March 2023 being affected.

Anker Issues Urgent Recall for Portable Power Banks

Anker has identified a manufacturing flaw that may cause the lithium-ion battery in these power banks to overheat. This overheating can lead to the melting of the device’s plastic parts, release of smoke, or even a fire hazard.

While Anker emphasizes that only a small batch of power banks made after March are implicated, the company is proactively recalling all units of this model.

If you possess an Anker 321 Power Bank, it’s essential to check if it is part of the recall. Look for the white label on the bottom of the device, which should read “Anker 321 Power Bank (PowerCore 5K, Black), Model: A1112.” If your unit matches this description, Anker advises you to stop using the power bank immediately.

    Recall Verification and Replacement Process

Anker has created a special webpage to manage the recall process. Consumers can visit the page to check their power bank’s serial number and confirm if it is included in the recall. If verified, Anker is offering a complimentary replacement with the Anker 533 Portable Power Bank. To speed up the replacement process, Anker suggests having proof of purchase ready when completing the online form.

Anker also highlights the importance of proper battery disposal. Discarding them in regular trash cans or recycling bins can be dangerous to the environment and pose fire risks. Anker’s website offers guidance on responsible battery disposal methods specific to various regions.

    Consumer Safety Tips

This event underscores the importance of caution when using portable power banks. Always buy these devices from reputable brands and authorized sellers. Look for certifications from recognized organizations that ensure safety standards are upheld. Regularly check your power bank for any damage and avoid using any device that appears to be faulty.

Xiaomi 15 Pro Camera Sensors Leaked: Full Details Revealed

A leak from the Chinese social media platform Weibo has disclosed the camera specifications for Xiaomi’s forthcoming flagship, the Xiaomi 15 Pro.

    Xiaomi 15 Pro

    3x 50MP Cameras

The device will feature three 50MP cameras on the rear, similar to the Xiaomi 14 Pro. The primary sensor will be the OV50K, and the IMX882 will be used for the 3x telephoto lens.

The OV50K is rumored to be a 1″ sensor. In contrast, the Xiaomi 14 Pro had a slightly smaller 1/1.31″ sensor. Although detailed information about this sensor is limited, the manufacturer has introduced a smaller version called the OV50K40. This version utilizes lateral overflow integration capacitors (LOFIC) to deliver top-tier single-exposure high dynamic range (HDR) regardless of lighting conditions. It reportedly achieves human eye-level HDR with a single exposure in standard mode.

    Square-shaped Camera Module

The leaker mentions that the telephoto sensor’s clarity in digital zooming is inferior to the OV64b, although its power consumption is notably efficient. The Xiaomi 14 Pro employs a Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor for its 3.2x telephoto lens. The transition to the telephoto in the Xiaomi 15 Pro is said to have improved compared to its predecessor. The aperture of the telephoto lens will also be a significant factor.

Earlier rumors suggested that the Xiaomi 15 Pro would feature a square-shaped camera module positioned in the upper left corner, with the flash located outside the camera island, possibly due to space constraints. The front of the phone will boast a 2K micro-curved screen.

    Expected Release Date

The Xiaomi 15 Pro is anticipated to be launched around mid-October and will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. While details about the upcoming Xiaomi 15 series are limited at this time, we will provide more updates as they become available.
