    4. An extensive lineup of upcoming agents for Season 3 has been teased, including new archetypes and factions, fueling anticipation for future content.

    Latest Update and Release Details

Today, Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.8 named New: Eridan Sunset, is now available on multiple platforms which includes mobile, PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. This update completes Season 2, and two new high-tier agents have been introduced into the game. Also, it’s official that the game is next heading onto Steam, exciting many PC gamers who have been waiting for this.

Steam Version and How to Get It

During a special livestream, the HoYoverse team announced that Zenless Zone Zero will soon be on Steam, with the store page already active so players can add it to their Wishlist. To make things more interesting, a Wishlist Milestone Event is running; as the number of Wishlist adds reach certain goals, players will earn rewards such as Polychromes and other game items. The Steam launch is expected around mid-2026, probably around the Version 3.0 update scheduled for June. Only Honkai Impact 3rd from HoYoverse has previously been available on Steam, making this a big step for the game, and users’ progress and purchases will carry over from other platforms thanks to account synchronization.

    Storyline and New Content

The ongoing storyline dives deeper into rival factions fighting over a mysterious figure called Ramiel in the Outer Ring. Promeia, a new character who is an Ice Anomaly, joins to help uncover Ramiel’s plans along with other characters such as Starlight Billy and Cissia. New Agents and Gameplay Features

In the latest update, two new S-Rank agents are introduced that will be available in different phases of the update timeline. She will be available on a banner running until May 27 and is accompanied by a rerun for Lucia. The other new agent, Starlight Billy, specializes in Physical Rupture attacks and is a highly upgraded version of the original Billy found since launch. His banner is live from May 27 to June 16 and includes a rerun for Orphie. The update also brings a Vortex combat mechanic, introducing a fresh way to engage enemies, along with a new enemy type that has special attributes. To join in the excitement, there’s also a limited event called Eridan Sunset, adding more gameplay diversity.

Teasers for Future Agents and Game Direction

The 2.8 livestream has given players a sneak peek at the upcoming Season 3 agents, revealing a larger roster than usual. HoYoverse decided not to drip-feed new characters as they usually do, but instead showcased many at once, creating buzz and division within the community. Some players are opting to try to pull Promeia now, while others are holding onto Polychromes, saving resources for the future lineup, which hints at new archetypes like Wind Anomaly and agents from the Void Hunter faction being introduced soon.

    Platform Availability and Special Features

Zenless Zone Zero remains free to play across iOS, Android, PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. For Windows 11 users, there’s an option to switch to Xbox mode, a new feature rolled out this week that grants a full-screen, controller-friendly interface. This makes the game feel more like a console experience directly on PC, improving user comfort and gameplay immersion. With so many options, players can choose how they want to enjoy the game on their platform of choice without any extra cost.

    • Modded Keychain Nintendo Wii Plays Full GameCube Games Without Emulation

Modded Keychain Nintendo Wii Plays Full GameCube Games Without Emulation

      Key Takeaway

      1. The Kawaii is the smallest functional Nintendo Wii/GameCube system, fitting inside a CNC-machined aluminum shell with keychain loop.
      2. It uses an undervolted motherboard with added hardware for power, video, and controller support, running GameCube games natively without emulation.
      3. The device requires external cooling due to high operating temperatures and is a complex, non-commercial build aimed at experienced modders.

The Miniature Wii: An Impressive Feat of Custom Modding

Recently, Tito from Macho Nacho Productions showcased an astonishing tiny Nintendo Wii model that’s roughly the size of a small keychain. This mini console, dubbed Kawaii, has been tested extensively in his latest video and is capable of playing GameCube games directly on its hardware, which is pretty remarkable considering the compact size. Unlike other mini consoles that rely on emulation or Raspberry Pi setups, Kawaii’s hardware integrity remains intact, thanks to a carefully designed motherboard housed inside a CNC-machined aluminum shell that doubles as a heatsink.

      Development and Craftsmanship

This incredible project was brought to life by talented modders YveltalGriffin and WeskMods, who set out to create the smallest Wii known to man. They did exceptionally well at shrinking down the entire system, maintaining original hardware compatibility, and making it all fit into a tiny package. The design features a sleek, anodized blue aluminum casing with laser-etched artwork and small acrylic windows, which display RGB lighting effects. It comes with a keychain attachment, making it truly portable and easy to carry around.

      Technical Features and Performance

The Kawaii’s core is a undervolted Omega-trim Wii motherboard powered by Thundervolt electronics, complemented by a breakout PCB supporting SD card and USB inputs. This setup is connected via a 12-pin magnetic pogo-pin connector, similar to MagSafe technology, providing reliable power and data transfer for video and controllers. An accessory dock is included, featuring four traditional GameCube ports, along with composite and component video outputs, plus stereo audio. Despite passive cooling, the mini Wii can get warm during intense gaming sessions like Mario Kart: Double Dash or Crazy Taxi, but it still plays games smoothly. Tito noted that he had to use an external cooling fan for prolonged gameplay sessions to prevent shutdowns after around 20-30 minutes of play.

      Challenges and Future Prospects

While the Kawaii is an exceptional achievement, the creators warn that building one isn’t for everyone. YveltalGriffin mentioned, “Kawaii will be a challenging build, and there won’t be a full kit you can just buy or even detailed step-by-step instructions.” It’s a true labor of love, requiring significant skills in modding and electronics. Nevertheless, the project pushes the boundaries of what’s possible with custom gaming hardware, inspiring future tiny consoles or portable emulators for dedicated enthusiasts.

Capcom Addresses Resident Evil Requiem DLSS 5 Backlash: We Got the Design Right

      Key Takeaway

      1. Fans’ strong positive reaction to Grace Ashcroft’s original character design suggests Capcom nailed her look and affirmed her as a fan favorite.
      2. The backlash against Nvidia’s DLSS 5 featuring a heavily altered, more “glamorous” version of Grace was seen by the development team as validation of the original design’s success.
      3. Capcom’s team feels confident that the original character design resonated well with fans, viewing the criticism of the DLSS 5 tech demo as a sign they achieved a convincing and relatable character portrayal.

Capcom’s Response to the Backlash Over Requiem

Capcom Division 1, the team behind Resident Evil 7, Village, remakes, and the recent hit Requiem, is kinda happy with the recent drama around Grace Ashcroft’s look in DLSS 5. They see it as a win. During a talk with Eurogamer, Requiem’s director, Koshi Nakanishi, said he was pretty pleased about the fans pushing back hard on Nvidia’s tech demo showcasing DLSS 5. He believes fans who love the original design of Grace Ashcroft felt like Capcom hit the mark from the beginning, giving him a kinda reassurance that the characters they create are appreciated, despite his worries.

      Fan Reactions and Character Design

      • Fans had mixed feelings about Nvidia’s version of Grace Ashcroft, which featured a super sharp face, different eyes, and fuller lips, giving her a glam look much like the kind seen on Instagram.
      • The tech demo was shown after the game was out, on February 27, 2026, making it recent. Nvidia showed side-by-side shots of Leon S. Kennedy and Ashcroft with their new neural-rendering tech.
      • The reaction was loud, with many fans feeling like DLSS 5’s update was not fitting. Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang initially said fans were “completely wrong,” but later apologized or at least clarified, saying the tech lets designers keep artistic control, though he also criticized “generative AI slop.”

      Design Success and Fan Satisfaction

Capcom’s team, especially Nakanishi and producer Masato Kumazawa, felt good about how Grace was received. They thought her character design was spot on and appreciated how her expressive face shows what she’s going through emotionally. They mentioned, “She’s very emotionally expressive about the fear she goes through, being thrust into this intense experience, and because she’s so relatable, you root for her.” It’s like they got her just right, and fans seem to agree, here. Kumazawa added that many players actually liked her original look and didn’t want it changed, so that proves they nailed her design and made her a favorite fast.

    • Microsoft Plans to Retire Xbox Copilot AI Feature

Microsoft Plans to Retire Xbox Copilot AI Feature

      Key Takeaway

      1. Xbox is winding down development of AI assistant features like Copilot on mobile and console, citing concerns over impact on gameplay and community feedback.
      2. The move suggests a shift towards prioritizing traditional gameplay experiences over AI-guided assistance that may diminish engagement.
      3. Microsoft’s renewed focus on gamer-first initiatives and improvements to Windows 11 indicate a strategic emphasis on strengthening Xbox and PC gaming platforms.

The Introduction of AI Assist Features in Modern Gaming

One feature that many folks find kinda controversial but most are not really talking about openly is the AI assistant stuff being added into games. Xbox Gaming Copilot on PC, mobile, and consoles is the prime example of this. The little bit of drama around it comes from single-player games where an AI might help you solve a puzzles quicker than you could do on your own, or even worse, copy answers from guides online that might do the same thing. Communities that focus on FAQs and walkthroughs didn’t really like this because it could make their resources less valuable.!

      Xbox’s Decision to Discontinue Copilot

Even though the reaction to Copilot was kinda mixed, the folks at Xbox who own the studios decided to act. The new Xbox CEO, Asha Sharma, even came out and said that they are going to faze out Copilot first on mobile and then completely stop working on it for the consoles. This move was seen as a good one by many, as it helps keep the game experience more fair and fun for players who want to figure things out on their own. While there’s no word about the PC version of the feature, many see this as a positive step forward for gaming integrity.

The Future of AI and Gaming Enhancement

Using AI to assist can sometimes spoil the experience and take away some of the challenges that make gaming fun. When players use AI guides for something they couldn’t have gotten past without help, it might hurt the overall enjoyment of the game. Plus, if AI makes walkthrough sites obsolete, those communities might suffer. Therefore, moving away from AI helpers in certain areas seems like a practical and smart decision for Xbox, especially since they are making lots of other changes lately intended to improve the gaming experience for all.

      Xbox’s Position and Future Prospects

It’s still early days to tell whether Xbox will bounce back to rival PlayStation 6, but their recent efforts show they reallly care about gamers. Microsoft is investing a lot into fresh updates for Windows 11 geared at gaming and launching new initiatives like Project Helix, which promises a ton of new game releases. These moves provide hope that Xbox and PC gaming might get better and more exciting, more than the down phase seen in the Xbox One to Series X transition. Things are looking slightly better for Xbox gamers now.

Even though QHD displays are gradually becoming more common in the gaming world, many gamers still prefer to use Full HD (FHD) monitors. If your on the hunt for a budget-friendly option, the Acer Nitro KG241Y P6bip stands out as a good buy right now.

This gaming monitor currently being offer at a massive 32% off, bringing its price down to only $89.99 for a limited time. Monitor Features and Technical Specs

Some users have also pointed out issues like backlight bleeding, which could affect viewing quality.

    • PlayStation 5 Supports Near-Native PS3 Games via RPCS3 on Linux

PlayStation 5 Supports Near-Native PS3 Games via RPCS3 on Linux

      Key Takeaway

      1. Andy Nguyen has developed PS5-Linux, enabling certain PS5 consoles (firmware 3.xx and 4.xx) to function like PCs capable of running Steam games and emulation smoothly.
      2. Modders are exploring PS5 Linux setups to emulate PS3 games via RPCS3, which can run games from dumped files with decryption keys, providing a more native experience.
      3. Sony has not officially added PS3 backward compatibility to PS5, but select older PS3 models can natively run PS1 and PS2 games via disc drives.
      4. Support for newer firmware versions plans to come, but Linux on these systems would run within the GameOS VM, potentially limiting performance.

Transforming PlayStation 5 into a Custom PC With Linux

Recently, Andy Nguyen has come out with PS5-Linux, which makes it possible for any PS5 running firmware 3.xx and 4.xx to be converted into a full-blown computer. Its hardware specs allow it to run many Steam games smoothly as well as handle emulation without much trouble.

      Linux and PS3 Emulation

Modders have begun to experiment more with Linux on PS5, and one notable showcase demonstrated how the setup manages PS3 emulation using RPCS3. If you didn’t know, RPCS3 is an open-source software for emulating PlayStation 3 games that works across different operating systems including Linux. It’s constantly being improved by developers who add new features, such as allowing players to run games from dumped files. When the PS5 is modified with RPCS3, it can emulate PS3 titles directly through the disc drive, creating a more authentic experience than generic emulation setups. But for this to work, users will need to provide decryption keys.

      Current Limitations and Compatibility

It’s important to recognize that Sony has yet to support native PS3 game compatibility on PS5. While you can access some last-gen titles via PlayStation Plus Premium, this isn’t quite the same as true backward compatibility. The older PS4 models had better support, especially certain PS3 models like CECHAxx and CECHBxx that could naturally run PS1 and PS2 games through their disc drives.

      Future Prospects and Firmware Restrictions

Support for newer firmware updates is being planned, but it presents challenges. When running Linux on newer firmware versions, the system must operate within the GameOS VM environment, which might limit overall performance. Thus, the mod is mainly practical on older PS5 consoles with firmware 3.xx and 4.xx. For a taste of what’s possible, check out the video by @retropierdolnik that shows a PS5 modded to run Motorstorm Pacific Rift via RPCS3, available for download on Amazon.
