  • Venture Capital Firm Forecasts $80 GTA 6 Price, $7.6B in 60 Days

Venture Capital Firm Forecasts $80 GTA 6 Price, $7.6B in 60 Days

    Key Takeaways

    1. Konvoy venture capital firm predicts GTA 6 will generate $7.6 billion in sales within the first two months, based on an $80 price tag.
    2. Rockstar Games is expected to recover its rumored $2 billion investment within 30 days of the game’s release.
    3. User Generated Content (UGC), GTA+, and microtransactions are anticipated to provide ongoing revenue for GTA 6.
    4. Discussions around the game’s pricing suggest that fans may be willing to pay $80, similar to other recent game launches.
    5. The delay of GTA 6’s release to May 26, 2026, is estimated to have cost the console industry around 700,000 sales, but the game still has the potential to be a top seller for the generation.

Analysts have previously shared some bold predictions regarding the revenue for GTA 6. Yet, the Konvoy venture capital firm has set the bar even higher for the Rockstar Games project. This firm, which concentrates on the gaming sector, anticipates that the game will bring in $7.6 billion in sales within the first two months. Insider Gaming found a post on LinkedIn that included detailed expectations based on an $80 price tag for GTA 6.

    Sales Expectations

With intense pre-orders and excitement growing since the launch of GTA 5, the sequel is set to quickly surpass its rivals. The firm is confident that Rockstar Games will recover its rumored $2 billion investment within just 30 days.

In the long run, User Generated Content (UGC), GTA+, and microtransactions will help maintain a steady revenue stream. Instead of limiting itself to a few third-party tools like FiveM, it’s possible that GTA 6 could debut with premium mod support.

    Pricing Discussions

Following Microsoft and Nintendo’s decision to set some games at $80, the price for GTA 6 has sparked discussions. Rockstar Games, owned by Take-Two Interactive, may offer hints through the pricing of Borderlands 4. Randy Pitchford suggested that the looter shooter might be priced at $80, but it will actually be available for a more standard $70. Nevertheless, Konvoy believes that many fans would be willing to pay a higher price.

Konvoy’s predictions are based on the belief that GTA 6 will outperform any previous game in history. Other estimates are more uncertain, such as speculation that Rockstar Games will implement 200-player lobbies. Nonetheless, Xbox and PlayStation are hopeful these projections will hold true. The delay of GTA 6’s release to May 26, 2026, might have cost the console industry around 700,000 sales. With a staggered PC launch, GTA 6 has the potential to be the leading system seller of this console generation.

  • Keychron Unveils Retro Budget Mechanical Keyboard with Num Pad

Keychron Unveils Retro Budget Mechanical Keyboard with Num Pad

    Key Takeaways

    1. Affordable Price Point: The Keychron C2 Pro 8K QMK is priced at $64.99, making it a budget-friendly option compared to premium models.

    2. High Polling Rate and Customizability: The keyboard features an 8 kHz polling rate and QMK firmware, enhancing its customizability for users.

    3. Durable Build with Unique Features: It includes durable double-shot PBT keycaps, a wired-only connection, and adjustable typing angles for better ergonomics.

    4. Design Aesthetic and Usability: The keyboard has a retro aesthetic with a beige and brown color scheme, but south-facing RGB backlighting may affect readability in low light.

    5. Advanced Features for Gamers: It offers compatibility with Keychron Launcher for customization and includes a unique Snap Tap feature for improved gaming performance.

Keychron has a reputation for producing some of the finest pre-assembled mechanical keyboards and gaming accessories. While their premium models, like the Keychron Q13 Max we recently looked at, are priced over $200, their latest offering is available for just $64.99 on Amazon.

Latest Release: Keychron C2 Pro 8K QMK

The Keychron C2 Pro 8K QMK is the newest addition to the brand’s lineup, following the C1 and C3 Pro 8K models. As indicated by its name, this keyboard features an impressive 8 kHz polling rate and QMK firmware, which greatly enhances its customizability. The C2 Pro 8K comes with a standard full-size layout that includes a num pad and a navigation cluster positioned above the arrow keys. However, it lacks the convenient shortcut keys located above the num pad, which are present on the Keychron Q13 Max.

    Features and Specifications

The C2 Pro 8K shares numerous attributes with Keychron’s higher-end mechanical keyboards, such as compatibility with the Keychron Launcher, durable double-shot PBT keycaps in a unique OSA profile, and a choice of Keychron Super Red, Brown, or Banana switches. To keep the price lower, Keychron has gone for a wired-only connection, but a replaceable USB Type-C cable is still included for ease of repair, and the keyboard is encased entirely in ABS plastic.

The use of an ABS case shouldn’t be seen as a drawback to the C2 Pro 8K’s build quality, as there are benefits to choosing ABS over aluminum. For one, it allows Keychron to integrate features like the flip-out feet, which provide 4°, 8°, and 10° typing angles for better ergonomics, along with cutouts for the indicator LEDs above the num pad. The overall weight is also lighter than a full aluminum design, with the C2 Pro 8K tipping the scales at about 975 g.

    Design and Usability

Many specifications remain consistent, like the five-layer acoustic treatment and the practical hardware OS selector switch that allows for easy switching between macOS and Windows layouts. In terms of design, the C2 Pro 8K shares similarities with the recently released Keychron C3 Pro 8K, thanks to its tray mount structure and retro aesthetic. While it may not offer the same shine-through feature as the Keychron C1 Pro 8K, the C2 Pro 8K has a distinct charm with its beige and brown color scheme. Unfortunately, this model features south-facing RGB backlighting, which can hinder readability in dimly lit environments unless you prefer side-printed legends.

As previously mentioned, the Keychron C2 Pro 8K is compatible with Keychron Launcher, a consistent highlight in our reviews of Keychron keyboards, and the open-source QMK ecosystem. This compatibility enables users to customize the keyboard with macros, unique lighting effects, and key mappings. An unusual feature that Keychron included in the C2 Pro 8K is Snap Tap—also known as Snap Action in Keychron Launcher—typically found only in Hall-effect keyboards. This feature allows players to counter-strafe more effectively in specific shooter games, giving them the ability to prioritize one key press over another depending on the timing of the key activations.

First revealed on March 18, the Retroid Pocket Classic is a handheld gaming device designed to look like the Nintendo Game Boy Color. It comes in seven different colors, including a special six-button model called the Classic 6, and there are talks of adding an eighth color soon.

    New Color Announcement

A recent post on X by the Retroid Pocket account mentioned that a new color for the six-button model inspired by the SEGA Genesis will be introduced. But there’s a catch: it needs to get 350 likes first. As of now, the post has already garnered 785 likes, which more than doubles the needed amount. So, it’s pretty much confirmed that a new color is on the way.

    Design and Specifications

The post also showed an image of the Retroid Pocket Classic in this anticipated new color. The device sports an all-black look, except for the XYZ buttons that are a lighter gray. Other than the color change, the specifications are expected to remain unchanged from the other models.

  • Stellar Blade X Account Hacked: Crypto Scams Hit PC and PS5 Game

Stellar Blade X Account Hacked: Crypto Scams Hit PC and PS5 Game

    Key Takeaways

    1. Stellar Blade’s PC launch increased its player base but also attracted crypto scammers.
    2. A hacker took over Stellar Blade’s official X account, promoting a fake cryptocurrency.
    3. Founder Hyung-Tae Kim warned fans not to report the fraudulent posts to avoid account bans.
    4. A Reddit post falsely claimed that investing in a Stellar Blade coin would grant exclusive items and development input.
    5. Popular social media accounts are frequent targets for scams, with previous similar incidents affecting major brands like Xbox.

The recent launch of Stellar Blade on PC has brought a significant rise in its player base, but it has also attracted the attention of crypto scammers. On July 13th, an unknown hacker took over the game’s official account on X. Followers quickly spotted unusual posts promoting a new cryptocurrency linked to Stellar Blade. In response, Hyung-Tae Kim, the founder of Shift Up, alerted gamers on another account to disregard these fake announcements.

    Ongoing Issues with Account Access

By July 14th, Kim disclosed that the developers behind Stellar Blade still had not regained control of their official account. He urged fans not to report the fraudulent posts, as such actions might lead to a permanent ban of the account. While the suspicious messages have since been removed, Shift Up has not issued any updates. Kim assured followers that further news would be shared once they successfully logged back in.

    Scam Details Shared Online

A post showcased on Reddit promoted a Stellar Blade coin, claiming that gamers who invested in the cryptocurrency would receive exclusive items and upgrades. Additionally, backers could even have a say in the future development of both the PC and PS5 versions of Stellar Blade. Although not many Reddit users appeared to be deceived by this scheme, it’s probable that at least one individual did invest in the coin.

    Vulnerability of Social Media Accounts

Popular social media profiles are prime targets for crypto scammers aiming for quick gains. A similar incident occurred in May 2025, when the Xbox accounts on Facebook and Instagram were compromised. Once again, malicious actors launched a new currency under the Xbox name.

X seems particularly prone to security issues, as prominent brands like the NBA and NASCAR have also faced similar attacks. Even more frustrating is the fact that legitimate account owners often find it challenging to regain control of their verified accounts. Notably, a well-known game developer linked to PlayStation was unable to resolve their security issues even after two days.

  • Nvidia Preview Driver Adds Frame Generation for Unsupported RTX 40 Games

Nvidia Preview Driver Adds Frame Generation for Unsupported RTX 40 Games

    Key Takeaways

    1. Nvidia’s frame generation technology significantly enhances frame rates for gamers with older hardware, often doubling them without major quality loss.
    2. The new preview driver version 590.26 introduces Smooth Motion for RTX 40 series GPUs, enabling frame generation for games without native support.
    3. Users must create a developer account on Nvidia’s developer site to access and download the preview driver, as it’s not available through regular updates.
    4. Impressive frame rate boosts have been reported, with up to 100% increase in some games like Company of Heroes 3 using the RTX 4090 with Smooth Motion.
    5. The preview driver may contain bugs, and the timeline for its final release on the Nvidia App is currently unknown.

The discussion about Nvidia’s frame generation and the concept of ‘fake frames’ continues, but one thing is certain: the technology is remarkable. Gamers who have older hardware and have faced challenges running games are finding they can significantly increase their frame rates—sometimes more than double—without sacrificing much in terms of quality. Yet, it’s important to note that not every game is compatible with frame generation, and initially, only RTX 50 series GPUs could enable it for games that lacked support. That has changed now.

New Driver for RTX 40 Series

Nvidia has unveiled its preview driver version 590.26, which introduces Smooth Motion for RTX 40 series graphics cards. This new feature acts as a driver-level frame generation system, allowing improved frame rates in games that do not have native frame generation support. Previously exclusive to RTX 50 series cards, a user on the Guru3D forums discovered that this option is now accessible for RTX 40 series cards via the Nvidia App.

To try this preview driver, users cannot simply get it as a regular update from the Nvidia App. Instead, they must create a developer account on the Nvidia developer site. The only requirement is to provide an organization or university name to set up the account. Once that’s done, the latest driver can be downloaded and installed. After successful installation, those with RTX 40 series GPUs should find the Smooth Motion setting available in the Nvidia App.

    Impressive Frame Rate Boosts

According to Videocardz, they observed a doubling of the frame rate in Company of Heroes 3 when using an RTX 4090 with Smooth Motion activated. Meanwhile, PCGamer tested Smooth Motion on an RTX 4080 Super while playing Peak and Sons of the Forest, noting a 52 FPS increase in the first game and a 30 FPS boost in the second.

However, it’s worth mentioning that there may be some bugs present when using the preview driver across any generation of RTX cards. It remains uncertain when this driver will be released as a final version via the Nvidia App for the general audience. Still, this is exciting news for those who own RTX 40 series GPUs.

  • Borderlands 4 Map Fully Revealed by Gearbox CEO Before Release

Borderlands 4 Map Fully Revealed by Gearbox CEO Before Release

    Key Takeaways

    1. Randy Pitchford revealed the complete map for Borderlands 4, including 200 hidden Marcus Bobblehead locations, months before the game’s launch.
    2. The game is set in a new expansive world called Kairos, featuring interconnected areas like Beach, RIP Tunnels, Crater, and Order of Hell.
    3. New gameplay mechanics include advanced movement abilities such as gliding, dashing, grappling, and double-jumping for enhanced exploration.
    4. The 200 Marcus Bobbleheads will contribute to an in-universe story, with a backstory involving a crate thrown from the moon of Elipse.
    5. Borderlands 4 is available for pre-order at various price points, with a global release date set for September 12, 2025, for Xbox Series S|X, PlayStation 5, and PC.

In a rather unexpected turn of events, Gearbox’s CEO, Randy Pitchford, has disclosed the complete map for Borderlands 4, including the precise locations of 200 hidden Marcus Bobblehead collectibles. This announcement arrives several months prior to the game’s official launch.

    Insights on Development

On a comprehensive X thread on Twitter, Randy Pitchford provided valuable details regarding the development process of Borderlands 4 along with a full map screenshot. The map highlights essential areas such as Beach, RIP Tunnels, Crater, and Order of Hell.

The setting for Borderlands 4 takes place in the new world known as Kairos, which is said to be one of the most expansive and interconnected universes in the history of the IP. Pitchford emphasized that the development team worked hard to construct a vast world that is “completely filled.”

    New Gameplay Mechanics

In addition, the game will feature advanced movement abilities such as gliding, dashing, grappling, and double-jumping, allowing players to explore every nook and cranny of Kairos. Pitchford mentioned that the 200 Marcus Bobbleheads are more than just simple collectibles; they will subtly narrate an in-universe story. He explained:

“Someone on the moon of Elipse had a crate, bought from their local vendor. And, in the cataclysm, the crate, still full of collectibles, was hurled towards Kairos. It broke apart and scattered the 200 or so of these things all over the place.”

    Challenge for Completionists

Pitchford openly dared completionists, saying, “Most players will never see any of them and only a very, very small number of people will explore Kairos so completely that they might discover them all.”

This decision to unveil the Borderlands 4 map and all in-game collectibles is quite unusual, given that collectibles are typically meant for players to find on their own.

Borderlands 4 is available for pre-order at a price of $69.99, reduced from the previously announced $80. Players can also opt for the deluxe and super deluxe editions, which are priced at $99.99 and $129.99, respectively.

The game is scheduled for global release on September 12, 2025, and will be available on Xbox Series S|X, PlayStation 5, and PC.

Nintendo is generating excitement for the launch of Donkey Kong Bananza, which is set to drop later this week, using various strategies. The company shared a brief clip on X and the Nintendo app, showcasing a countdown that lasts for three days leading up to the game’s much-awaited release.

    Building Anticipation

The excitement for Donkey Kong Bananza is growing as the July 17 launch date for the Nintendo Switch 2 approaches. This buzz is supported by numerous hands-on previews and exciting reveals that have captured the attention of the fanbase.

    Spoilers in the Wild

Nintendo’s promotional efforts for Donkey Kong Bananza come at a pivotal time, with physical copies of the game already circulating. Several owners of the Switch 2 have taken to social media and r/Switch to share images of their early copies.

However, with this early release, spoilers and screenshots are spreading across the internet. Fans hoping to keep their Donkey Kong Bananza experience free from spoilers should be cautious while browsing social media.

    Behind the Hype

The journey of Donkey Kong Bananza began with a relatively understated announcement but has since garnered more excitement than the Nintendo Switch 2’s own launch. A significant factor contributing to this hype is the talented development team working on the game.

The producer is Kenta Motokura, known for directing Super Mario Odyssey, while Kazuya Takahashi, who joined Nintendo in 2020, serves as the project’s director. Takahashi has acknowledged that the voxel-based technology can impact performance, yet the main focus remains on ensuring player enjoyment and satisfaction.

    Gameplay Performance

Initial reports indicate that the game performs well on the Nintendo Switch 2, except when environmental destruction and explosions clutter the screen, leading to frame rate drops.

In this highly anticipated title, fans will see the return of a beloved character, Pauline, who will team up with Donkey Kong in this voxel-based 3D platformer.

With just three days to go until launch, players are encouraged to navigate the spoiler-filled online landscape carefully. Donkey Kong Bananza is officially set to release on the Nintendo Switch 2 this Thursday, July 17.

  • Bend Studio Rumored to Cancel Several Unannounced Projects

Bend Studio Rumored to Cancel Several Unannounced Projects

    Key Takeaways

    1. Bend Studio has reportedly cancelled or put on hold several unannounced projects, according to a former employee’s LinkedIn profile.
    2. Jacob Fieth, a former team member, contributed significantly to the studio’s game development, suggesting that the shelved projects were well-developed.
    3. Earlier this year, Sony scrapped a live-service game from Bend Studio, leading to confusion and layoffs affecting 30% of the workforce.
    4. Bend Studio’s last major release was the PS5 and PC version of Days Gone, which received a positive reception on Steam.
    5. There has been no official statement from Sony or Bend Studio regarding the future of the studio or the possibility of a Days Gone sequel.

Sony’s Bend Studio, known for creating 2019’s Days Gone, is currently surrounded by rumors indicating that several unannounced projects associated with the studio have been either cancelled or put on hold indefinitely.

    Insights from a Former Employee

This information emerged from Jacob Fieth’s LinkedIn profile, a former member of Bend Studio who was part of the team from 2019 until June 2025. He noted “multiple cancelled/unannounced projects” in his experiences, implying that the studio had been developing several titles that are unlikely to be released.

    A Veteran’s Contributions

Fieth had significant experience at Bend Studio, where he “created and iterated on Open World Events and Missions, prototyped Open World Events, Puzzles and Systems, and created layouts for various POIs in the Open World (2D and 3D layouts).” Additionally, he also played a role in drafting design documents, worked closely with animators and programmers to produce in-game cinematics, and improved player traversal mechanics. Given this background, it’s reasonable to assume that the projects he worked on had advanced notably before being shelved.

    Recent Developments

Earlier this year, Sony officially scrapped a live-service game that Bend Studio had been developing. They assured fans that the studio “was not going anywhere.” However, the aftermath has been quite confusing, as reports indicated that 30% of Bend Studio’s workforce was laid off following the cancellation, with more layoffs speculated to have taken place last month.

Bend Studio’s latest significant release was the PS5 and PC version of Days Gone, which originally launched on the PS4 in 2019. The game holds a very positive rating on Steam, boasting a user score of 91.43%. In total, it has garnered 96,811 positive reviews on the platform. Prior to Days Gone, Bend Studio had also contributed to Uncharted: Golden Abyss for the PS Vita and the Syphon Filter series.

    Future Uncertainty

As of now, neither Sony Interactive Entertainment nor Bend Studio has made any public statements regarding the rumored cancellations of projects in development. Given the recent layoffs, the prospects for a Days Gone sequel or any new open-world titles appear quite dim.
