Vivo X200 Pro: New 50MP Sony Camera, 200MP Periscope Telephoto Lens

Several reports have indicated that Vivo might unveil the Vivo X200 series of smartphones in China this October. Recent leaks suggest that alongside the Vivo X200 and X200 Pro, there could be an additional model, possibly named the Vivo X200 Mini. Reliable source Digital Chat Station has disclosed camera specifications for an upcoming device powered by the Dimensity 9400, which seems to be the Vivo X200 Pro. Here’s a breakdown of the latest details from the leak.

Vivo X200 Pro Camera Specifications (Rumored)

A Weibo post by Digital Chat Station indicates that the Vivo X200 Pro will see major improvements in its camera setup. The main camera is expected to use Sony’s new 50-megapixel sensor, manufactured with 22nm process technology.

For context, the Sony IMX989, featured in the Vivo X100 Pro, was built on a 40nm node. Although the new CMOS sensor is slightly smaller at 1/1.28 inches, the larger f/1.57 aperture will allow more light to enter, improving the overall image quality.

Additional Camera Features

The rear camera setup of the Vivo X200 Pro is also rumored to include a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens, akin to the one in the Vivo X100 Ultra. This lens will have a large 1/1.4-inch sensor with an f/2.67 aperture.

While not mentioned in the leak, the camera array is likely to feature a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens as well. The phone is also expected to incorporate self-developed imaging chips, which will enhance both software and hardware for superior photo quality.

Display and Battery Specifications

Other reports suggest that the Vivo X200 Pro will sport a 6.7-inch OLED panel with a micro-curvature design and ultra-thin bezels. The display is anticipated to offer a 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint scanner. Additionally, the device is rumored to house a substantial 6,000mAh battery.
