It’s important to remember that AnTuTu compiles these monthly performance charts by taking into account several factors. Also, it’s worth mentioning that benchmark scores can vary greatly based on different conditions, which is why the rankings of the phones can change month to month.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra: Early Photo Comparisons Highlight Flagship Strength

    Key Takeaways

    1. Xiaomi is set to launch the Xiaomi 15 Ultra on Sunday in Barcelona, right before MWC 2025.
    2. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra was just released in China, with an initial price of $1,029 on Amazon.

    4. Early comparisons show the Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s telephoto camera outperforming the Vivo X200 Pro in various scenarios.
    5. The performance differences between the two smartphones may stem from varying color science and sharpening styles.

Xiaomi is likely to launch the Xiaomi 15 Ultra to the world on Sunday in Barcelona, right ahead of MWC 2025. Although, its predecessor, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, which is currently priced at $1,029 on Amazon, has just been released in China, where it started selling yesterday. Because of this, early users are already testing out the latest flagship from Xiaomi.

    Camera Features

A lot of attention has been given to the camera system of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, especially its new 200 MP telephoto sensor. Interestingly, Xiaomi revealed the large size of this sensor earlier than expected. The company also provided official camera samples, but it’s important to remember that these images are usually the best possible examples for any smartphone.

    Performance Comparison

Initial independent comparisons indicate that the telephoto camera on the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is better than the similar Vivo X200 Pro in a variety of situations. For context, both smartphones use the same Samsung ISOCELL HP9 sensors. However, Xiaomi has chosen a wider f/2.6 aperture and a 100 mm equivalent focal length. Ultimately, the differences may relate to the color science and sharpening styles of each brand. Still, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra seems to be making a strong impression in these early assessments.

  • Dimensity 9400 Tops Snapdragon 8 Elite in AnTuTu Rankings

Dimensity 9400 Tops Snapdragon 8 Elite in AnTuTu Rankings

AnTuTu has released their new ranking for flagship phone performance. The Snapdragon 8 Elite has been leading this list for several months, but the Dimensity 9400 has made a strong return, claiming the top position based on data from January 2025.

    Top Performer Revealed

In detail, the Vivo X200 Pro Satellite Edition, which features the Dimensity 9400, has reached the highest rank in this recent performance evaluation. It achieved an impressive average score of 2,896,624 points. Close behind is the OnePlus Ace 5 Pro powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, which earned an average score of 2,888,193 points.

    Recent Competition

While the score gap between these two devices isn’t very large, the past few months have seen the Dimensity 9400 struggle against the Snapdragon 8 Elite devices in AnTuTu’s rankings. For instance, the ROG Phone 9 Pro had a notable advantage over the Vivo X200 Pro back in November 2024.

The same trend was observed in the December 2024 AnTuTu flagship rankings. Moving back to the current list, several other phones have also made their way into the top 10 positions.

    How Rankings Are Determined

It’s important to mention that AnTuTu creates these monthly rankings by taking several factors into account. One key requirement is that devices must have at least 1,000 valid benchmark runs within the month, which is why the rankings can change frequently. Additionally, it’s not just the benchmark scores that are considered; other crucial elements such as display quality, camera capabilities, battery life, and software performance also play a vital role.

  • Android OEMs to Launch Foldable Pro Mini Smartphones Soon

Android OEMs to Launch Foldable Pro Mini Smartphones Soon

The high-end Android smartphone market has seen significant growth in various aspects over the past few years. Despite this, many users are looking for powerful mobile options in a more compact form. This shift is reflected in the popularity of devices like the Xiaomi 15 and the Mini variant of the Vivo X200 Pro.

    Screen Size Matters

These devices feature screens measuring around 6.3 inches diagonally, compared to roughly 6.8 inches found in their larger versions. Recently, well-known leaker Digital Chat Station hinted that future models may introduce foldable designs.

    Foldable Innovations

If this occurs, we could see these smartphones evolve into clamshell-style designs like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 or Motorola Razr+ 2024. However, they might also forgo the small ~3.5-inch secondary displays that are becoming less favored among flagship models.

    A New Category Emerges

Future iterations of these foldable screens could potentially minimize the bezels and frames, allowing for a more compact overall size. This way, the new foldable devices could carve out their own niche as “Mini” options within the smartphone market. They may still offer premium features like IPX8 water resistance, 50MP rear cameras, and the same processors found in their full-sized counterparts.

  • Vivo X200 Series India Pricing Unveiled: Major Hike vs China

Vivo X200 Series India Pricing Unveiled: Major Hike vs China

Earlier this month, Vivo announced the launch date for the X200 series in India. The company will unveil its flagship models, the Vivo X200 and X200 Pro, tomorrow (12th December 2024). Even before the official announcement, details about the Indian pricing have already surfaced.

    Vivo X200 Series Pricing Details

This information was shared by well-known tipster Abhishek Yadav on X (previously known as Twitter). To remind you, the premium smartphone featuring the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 was first introduced in China in October 2024. The starting price for the X200 series was 4,300 Yuan, which is around 591 US Dollars. However, it seems that in India, the base Vivo X200 will be priced at 65,999 INR (approximately 777 US Dollars). This means that the Indian version is significantly pricier compared to its Chinese counterpart.

    Information on Vivo X200 Pro

The mentioned price of 65,999 INR applies to the 12GB + 256GB variant, while the 16GB + 512GB version will set you back 71,999 INR (about 848 US Dollars). As for the Vivo X200 Pro, it is expected to be priced at 94,999 INR (around 1,199 US Dollars) in India for its sole configuration of 16GB + 512GB. In comparison, this same model was introduced in China for 5,299 Yuan (approximately 825 US Dollars), indicating a significant price gap between the two markets.

    Features and Specifications

Recent teasers have confirmed that the Vivo X200 Pro will come equipped with Zeiss lenses for its rear cameras, which includes India’s first 200MP Zeiss APO telephoto camera along with the V3+ imaging chipset. Additionally, it will be powered by MediaTek’s top-tier Dimensity 9400, which is also used in the Oppo Find X8 series. The device boasts a large 6,000mAh battery, AIO features, and will run on Android 15 OS with FuntouchOS 15 custom skin right out of the box. Stay tuned for more updates as we cover the launch event tomorrow.

  • Oppo Confirms Global Release Potential for Find X8 Ultra

Oppo Confirms Global Release Potential for Find X8 Ultra

Oppo has unveiled the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro worldwide after presenting them last month in China. These two models serve as alternatives powered by the Dimensity 9400, coming up against a host of flagship devices that utilize the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, like the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which is currently priced at $949.99 on Amazon.

    Vivo’s New Offerings

The same situation applies to the Vivo X200 and X200 Pro, while the smaller X200 Pro mini is excluded. Regrettably, it looks like Oppo won’t be launching the entire Find X8 lineup globally. As of now, the Find X8 Ultra has not been officially introduced. Interestingly, Oppo recently hinted at this model on its UK X (formerly known as Twitter) account.

    Social Media Confusion

A screenshot from that account indicates that the UK social media team received word that the Find X8 Ultra “is not scheduled for a global release.” However, this post was later removed, hinting that they might have shared information too soon.

In any case, the absence of the Find X8 Ultra outside of China could give Samsung and the Galaxy S25 Ultra an opportunity to dominate the market globally. According to some recent rumors, the Honor Magic7 Pro might also make its way outside China, but likely not until after the Galaxy S25 series is officially announced.

  • Camera Comparison: OnePlus 13 vs Oppo Find X8 Pro vs Vivo X200 Pro

Camera Comparison: OnePlus 13 vs Oppo Find X8 Pro vs Vivo X200 Pro

There are plenty of camera comparison videos available online, and Chris from TechTablets often leads the way in reviewing and contrasting the newest devices. He also stays ahead in terms of camera flagship devices from brands like Oppo, OnePlus, and Vivo, which have already seen global launches. In his recent video (check it out below), he evaluates the camera equipment of the Hasselblad cameras found in the Oppo Find X8 Pro and OnePlus 13 alongside the Zeiss camera in the Vivo X200 Pro. The Vivo model has a slight edge as it has been on the (Chinese) market for a bit longer and has already gone through several updates.

    Performance Analysis

This gives some insight into why the Vivo X200 Pro tends to outperform the others in various situations, as highlighted in the nearly 8-minute comparison video according to Chris’s insights. The differences are minimal when it comes to video capabilities, where the Oppo Find X8 Pro stands out as the only device among the three that lacks the ability to shoot in 8K with its main camera. In terms of selfie shots, the OnePlus 13 takes the lead as the best of the flagship trio, but when looking at other aspects like portrait shots, macro images, and especially zoom photos, the Vivo X200 Pro clearly takes the crown.

    Zoom Performance

One of the most noticeable advantages comes from the 10x zoom shots taken at night and in low-light conditions, where the Zeiss camera on the Vivo X200 Pro significantly outshines the other two models. This is particularly surprising considering the Vivo X200 Pro’s optical focal length is much lower at 3.7x compared to the Oppo Find X8 Pro’s 6x zoom. Future updates could potentially enhance the performance of the Hasselblad flagship. However, there is a notable downside: the Vivo X200 Pro has a noticeable lens flare issue in certain situations, although the Oppo and OnePlus models are not completely free from this flaw either.
