GamersNexus Sues PayPal and Honey Over MegaLag Claims

GamersNexus typically focuses on graphics cards and PC cases, but recently, they have shifted their investigative efforts towards the widely-used browser extension, Honey, which is owned by PayPal. They align with MegaLag regarding accusations of Honey’s misconduct.

    Allegations Against Honey

The allegations involve the misuse of online referral or affiliate links, potentially leading to revenue loss for influencers who deserve credit for the sales. GamersNexus has responded by filing a class action lawsuit against PayPal in the Northern District of California.

    Legal Actions Taken

This new lawsuit is distinct from another case brought against Honey by YouTuber LegalEagle, also known as Devin Stone, who is a lawyer. Both lawsuits share the same goal: to seek compensation for those negatively impacted by the actions of the browser extension.

    Seeking Class Members

The class action is being pursued in collaboration with the legal group CPM, which is currently looking for potential class members. Content creators who think they have been negatively impacted by Honey’s practices, as described in the lawsuit, are encouraged to apply.

  • Indonesia to Enforce Social Media Age Restrictions Soon

Indonesia to Enforce Social Media Age Restrictions Soon

Last year, Australia introduced a law to prohibit social media usage for children below the age of 16, enacting it in a matter of months. Major companies in the social media sector, such as Meta, are now exploring ways to implement these new rules. Meanwhile, Indonesia is also taking steps to protect its young users, although it will take some time for the law to be officially enacted. A top official from the communications ministry has indicated that temporary child protection guidelines will be rolled out soon.

    Recent Discussions in Indonesia

On Monday, President Prabowo Subianto talked about this issue with Meutya Hafid, the communications minister. Hafid mentioned that there will be a minimum age established for social media users shortly, but he didn’t disclose what that age will be. Alexander Sabar, a senior official who communicated with Reuters, stated,

“What the minister is saying is that the government is aiming for stricter age limit regulations through new laws.”

As was the case in Australia, the specifics regarding Indonesia’s upcoming measures are not yet clear.

    Protecting Children Online

Indonesian officials plan to safeguard children from various dangers, whether they be physical, mental, or moral, that can arise from social media, but they aren’t looking to completely ban access. A recent study showed that approximately 50% of children under 12 in Indonesia are using platforms like Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok.

  • GMK AD-GP1: USB-C & OCuLink External Graphics Solution

GMK AD-GP1: USB-C & OCuLink External Graphics Solution

Some compact notebooks and mini-PCs come with APUs that perform remarkably well and can handle gaming. Yet, depending on the specific game, they might only manage lower frame rates or very basic graphics settings. In certain cases, using an external graphics card can be a viable option for these systems, especially for home use. The market for external graphics solutions has expanded a lot lately, and GMKtec has just introduced a new product to add to the options.

    Overview of the GMK AD-GP1

The GMK AD-GP1 serves as an external GPU, featuring the AMD Radeon RX 7600M XT and equipped with 8GB of GDDR6 video memory. Unlike various graphics docks out there, the AD-GP1 is not a semi-modular option, meaning users cannot swap out the internal graphics card. On the bright side, its closed design makes it easier to transport. Plus, it’s not overly large, with dimensions of 163.9 x 110.5 x 39.9 mm (6.5 x 4.4 x 1.6 in), making it quite manageable.

    Connectivity and Features

You can connect the AD-GP1 to a device using USB4 or OCuLink, with the latter providing faster transfer rates due to its four PCIe 4.0 lanes. It also supports USB Power Delivery, which allows the eGPU to deliver up to 100 watts to a compatible host device. For video connections, the AD-GP1 comes with two DisplayPort 2.0 and two HDMI 2.1 ports. However, GMKtec has not yet disclosed any details about pricing or availability. If you’re in the market for an external GPU, you might want to check out the GPD G1, which we reviewed earlier.

  • Realme 14 Pro+ Launch in India: 6000mAh, Snapdragon 7s, 120X Zoom

    Realme 14 Pro+ Launch in India: 6000mAh, Snapdragon 7s, 120X Zoom

Realme has launched the Realme 14 Pro and Realme 14 Pro+ in India. Both smartphones have a similar design that includes a color-changing back, a circular camera layout, and the “MagicGlow Triple Flash.” However, the specifications of the Pro+ model make it more impressive. In this piece, we will explore how the higher-end version differs from the standard one. You can view the Realme 14 Pro by clicking here. Now, let’s first examine the fundamental features.

Color Changing Back of the Realme 14 Pro+

The Realme 14 Pro+ is designed to combine style with functionality. It is available in three eye-catching colors: Pearl White, Suede Grey, and an exclusive Bikaner Purple for India. The standout option is the Pearl White, which features temperature-sensitive technology that allows it to shift from white to blue hues when the temperature falls below 16°C. Isn’t that fascinating?

Features and Specs: Why the 14 Pro+ is Unique

    The Realme 14 Pro+ is equipped with a 6.83-inch micro-curved AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution (2800×1272). This is larger than the Pro’s 6.77-inch display with a lesser FHD+ (2392×1080) resolution.

Internally, the Pro+ is driven by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, which is an upgrade from the Dimensity chip found in the Pro model. Even though both devices run on Realme UI 6.0 based on Android 15 and have a hefty 6000mAh battery, the Pro+ takes the edge with 80W fast charging compared to the Pro’s 45W.

    Camera Capabilities

When it comes to photography, the Pro+ truly excels. It features a 50MP Sony IMX896 (1/1.56″) primary camera, a 50MP 3x periscope lens that offers “120X SuperZoom,” and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. Plus, it includes a 32MP selfie camera, creating a robust photography setup.

While the standard version also takes advantage of Realme’s HYPERIMAGE+ processing, it has a smaller IMX882 main sensor (1/1.95″) along with a basic 2MP monochrome lens. The selfie camera is also less impressive with a 16MP resolution.

    Pricing and Where to Buy

The Realme 14 Pro+ starts at ₹29,999 for the 8GB+128GB version, while the 8GB+256GB and 12GB+256GB models are available at ₹31,999 and ₹34,999, respectively. With bank offers up to ₹4,000, you could snag one for just ₹25,999. In comparison, the Realme 14 Pro starts at ₹24,999 for the 8GB+128GB model and ₹26,999 for the 8GB+256GB variant.

You can pre-order the Pro+ on both Realme’s official site and Flipkart, as well as at authorized retail outlets. If you want a feature-rich smartphone with a premium vibe, the Realme 14 Pro+ could be what you’re looking for.
