    MediaTek is set to officially unveil the Dimensity 9400+ on April 11. This new chipset is likely to be used by brands such as Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo. It has already been seen in practical tests on the Vivo X200s ahead of the flagship phone’s launch.

    Performance Comparison

    According to tests conducted by Geekerwan, the Dimensity 9400+ in the Vivo X200s competes closely with the Snapdragon 8 Elite on Geekbench. The device achieved a single-core score of 2,949 and a multi-core score of 9,258. Both scores are comparable to those from other Snapdragon 8 Elite devices we’ve evaluated. It performs on par with the Xiaomi 15 (available on Amazon) and significantly outshines the Realme GT7 Pro in benchmarks.

    CPU Advancements

    Even though the Snapdragon 8 Elite previously outperformed the original Dimensity 9400 in CPU benchmarks, this edge seems to have vanished with the introduction of the Dimensity 9400+. This improvement is mainly due to the Cortex-X925 core clocked at 3.7 GHz in the new chipset, compared to the 3.63 GHz speed of the earlier model.

    GPU Details

    The GPU in the Dimensity 9400+ stays the same, featuring the Immortalis G925-MC12, which operates at 1612MHz like the original Dimensity 9400. Therefore, no significant differences in performance are anticipated. However, the Vivo X200s is able to consume slightly less power than the previous Vivo X200 that uses the Dimensity 9400 when running most games. It also operates a bit cooler, even more so than the Snapdragon 8 Elite-equipped Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
