HP launches 16-inch laptop worldwide with 32GB RAM and 1100-nit OLED display

    Key Takeaway

    – The new OmniBook X Flip 16 uses Panther Lake-based CPUs (Intel Core Ultra 5/7/9 or AMD Ryzen AI variants) with 16–32 GB RAM options and PCIe Gen 4/5 SSDs depending on platform.
    – All models include a 70 Wh battery, Wi‑Fi 7, and optional up to a 1800p OLED display (120 Hz, 100% DCI-P3, 500 nits SDR/1100 nits HDR).
    – Price range starts at $1,499 (US) up to $2,709 (Intel top config); European pricing varies (UK €1,299–€2,299; Eurozone €1,798–€2,099 depending on config).

    OmniBook X Flip 16: A Quick Intro

Almost five months have passed since HP presented a successor to the OmniBook X Flip 16 we reviewed in July 2025 (curr. $749 on Amazon). To recap, that model leveraged Intel’s Panther Lake platform. By contrast, this year’s successor moves the OmniBook X Flip 16 range onto newer Panther Lake-based alternatives. The description keeps it sharp, yet the pace of updates remains brisk, and readers must note pricing as it shifts with configurations and regional availability.

    Processors and RAM Options

Specifically, the new 16-inch convertible can be configured with the Core Ultra 5 325, Core Ultra 7 355 and the Core Ultra 9 386H, which are joined by 16 GB, 24 GB or 32 GB of RAM. The same is true for new AMD variants, which combine these RAM configurations with the Ryzen AI 5 430, Ryzen AI 5 435, Ryzen AI 7 445, Ryzen AI 7 450 or the Ryzen AI 9 465. Different markets may see nuanced availability, but core choices spotlight a balance between power and memory capacity that enthusiasts will weigh against price points.

    Finishes and Storage

For some reason, HP reserves Eclipse Grey and Meteor Silver finishes for its Intel and AMD variants, respectively. All versions can be purchased in an Atmospheric Blue finish, though. Also, while the OmniBook X Flip 16 can be optioned with 512 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB of storage, HP includes PCIe Gen 4 SSDs in AMD models and faster PCIe Gen 5 alternatives in Intel models. The mix of finishes and storage tiers is presented with a pragmatic approach, yet the choices might feel uneven across markets and lineups.

    Battery, Display, and Connectivity

Meanwhile, all versions ship with a 70 Wh battery and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity. Moreover, HP offers up to a 1800p (2.8K) OLED display with AMD or Intel processors. For reference, this display delivers a 120 Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 colour space coverage and 500 nits SDR/1,100 nits HDR brightness. The combination aims to satisfy both workhorse usability and media-erudite viewing preferences, though real-world brightness can vary with content and thermal limits.

    Pricing Across Regions

Pricing starts at $1,499 in the US but can rise to $2,579 for AMD models and to $2,709 for their Intel counterparts. Meanwhile, the OmniBook X Flip 16 has reached the UK for £1,299 with a Core Ultra 7 355, 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. The same SKU sells for €1,699 in the Eurozone too, where pricing stretches to €2,299 for the same top configuration sold in the US. Currently, AMD models start at €1,798 in the Eurozone and rise to €2,099 with a Ryzen AI 9 465, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD and a 1800p display.

Asus Launches Affordable 14-Inch Gaming Laptop with AMD Gorgon

    Key Takeaways

    1. Asus has launched its first gaming laptop with the AMD Strix Halo, the TUF Gaming A14 FA401EA, in several countries, alongside the ProArt PX13 in China.
    2. The FA401EA features a Ryzen AI Max+ 392 APU, Radeon 8060S iGPU, and 64 GB of RAM, making it a noteworthy upgrade over previous models.
    3. Another variant, the TUF Gaming A14 FA401GM, has been introduced with a Ryzen AI 9 465 CPU and Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 GPU, positioned between last year’s models.
    4. The pricing for the FA401GM is set at CNY 13,999 (around $2,008), with launch discounts bringing it down to CNY 10,699 (about $1,534) for the Moonlight Silver version.
    5. The FA401GM’s expected price in other markets is anticipated to be $100-$200 higher than last year’s model, which started at CNY 9,499 (about $1,362).

Earlier today, we shared that Asus has quietly begun to offer its first gaming laptop powered by the AMD Strix Halo in several countries. Alongside the new ProArt PX13 in China, the TUF Gaming A14 FA401EA has also made its way to Japan and parts of Europe. Many would say that the combination of a Ryzen AI Max+ 392 APU and a Radeon 8060S iGPU, along with 64 GB of RAM, is a configuration that grabs more attention than the recent TUF Gaming A14 models.

    New Variants

But the FA401EA isn’t the sole new TUF Gaming A14 that Asus has introduced this year. The company has also discreetly revealed a laptop variant with a Ryzen AI 9 465 CPU and Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 GPU, under the designation FA401GM. This specific combination of CPU and GPU would theoretically place the FA401GM in between the performance levels of last year’s FA401KM and the FA401WV that came before it (currently priced at $1,349.99 on Amazon). Asus China has now shed some light on the pricing for the FA401GM.

    Pricing Details

In particular, Asus has set the price for the TUF Gaming A14 FA401GM at CNY 13,999 (about $2,008) featuring 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. Nevertheless, a launch discount brings the price down to CNY 10,699 (around $1,534) for the Moonlight Silver version and CNY 10,999 (approximately $1,577) for the Eclipse Grey version. For context, the model from last year started at CNY 9,499 (about $1,362). Therefore, we anticipate that the FA401GM will likely be available in other markets at a $100-$200 increase compared to its predecessor when it officially launches. 5. The TUF Gaming A14 (2026) maintains a familiar design with a 2.5K 165 Hz IPS display and a 73 Wh battery, though its availability is still uncertain.

Asus has recently annouced that it has introduced AMD’s Strix Halo platform to its TUF Gaming A14. This model serves as a more affordable option compared to the ROG Zephyrus 14. Customers can currently choose configurations that include a Ryzen AI 7 350 and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 laptop GPU, with a price of around $1,749 on Amazon. While Asus hinted at having two versions of the TUF Gaming A14 (2026), only the details of the Strix Halo variant were shared prior to yesterday’s launch event.

    New Model Release

Now that the CES 2026 event is over, Asus has made its second TUF Gaming A14 (2026) laptop available on its global website. This new version features AMD’s Gorgon Point architecture alongside the familiar Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 laptop GPU. It can be identified by its model number FA401GM, which sets it apart from the Strix Halo variant (FA401EA). This second TUF Gaming A14 (2026) variant is equipped with a Ryzen AI 9 465, offering up to 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage.

    Key Differences

The primary distinction between the Ryzen AI 9 365 and the Ryzen AI 9 465 is the transition to 8,533 MT/s RAM instead of 7,500 MT/s. In addition, the TUF Gaming A14 (2026) FA401GM maintains a recognizable design, featuring a 73 Wh battery, a 2.5K 165 Hz IPS display, and dual M.2 2280 slots. At this moment, the availability of this model is still unclear. However, Asus is likely to market the FA401GM as a more budget-friendly option compared to the FA401EA, similar to the previous models FA401UH and FA401KM.

Asus has confirmed plans to unveil new laptops at CES 2026 in Las Vegas next month. They have hinted at the launch of a new Zenbook Duo. It seems that the brand is also gearing up to present new ROG Zephyrus gaming laptops as well.

    New Vivobook S15 Spotted

Recently, the next Vivobook S15 has appeared on Geekbench. To give some background, Asus currently sells a 15.6-inch mid-range laptop that features AMD Strix Point and Qualcomm Snapdragon X processors, which is priced at $999 on Amazon right now. According to the benchmark shown below, Asus is about to enhance these options with AMD Gorgon Point APUs.

    Specifications and Performance Details

The Vivobook S15 (M5650GA) is set to include the Ryzen AI 9 465, a 10-core CPU that should rank just below the Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 in AMD’s Gorgon Point series. It also comes with a Radeon 880M integrated GPU; essentially, the Ryzen AI 9 465 is very similar to the Ryzen AI 9 365, which Geekbench mistakenly identifies as a Strix Point chip.

The initial benchmark results indicate that the Ryzen AI 9 465 will offer performance comparable to that of the Ryzen AI 9 365. The key distinction between the two is expected to be the addition of a new XDNA 2 neural chipset, which is projected to provide a slight 10% performance boost, bringing it to 55 TOPS. It is likely that the Vivobook S15 is just one of many laptops that Asus plans to unveil next month, considering their history of releases.
