Samsung Galaxy XCover 7 Pro Leaks with Qualcomm Chip Upgrade

The latest rugged enterprise smartphone from Samsung was initially expected to be called the Galaxy XCover8 Pro, but it looks like it will actually be named the XCover7 Pro. This information comes from a recent leak by Android Authority.

New Name in Code

According to the blog, they found the name “xcover7pro” clearly mentioned in some code from a “trustworthy” source. Along with this name, there are hints about the phone’s specifications that are quite intriguing.

Processor Insights

The leak included a string that reads siop_xcover7pro_sm7635. This suggests that the XCover7 Pro could be powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 (also known as Qualcomm SM7635), instead of the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ found in the standard 7 model. If this turns out to be true, it means the 7 Pro will feature a more advanced processor built on a 4 nanometer (nm) architecture and offer faster cores that can reach speeds of 2.5GHz.

Similar Features Expected

So far, there is no evidence to suggest that the “XCover7 Pro” will have any major differences from the current 7 model, which is priced at $379.99 on Amazon. The existing model comes with a 6.6-inch LCD display featuring a waterdrop notch, protected by durable Gorilla Glass Victus. It also includes a 50MP rear camera and a slot for microSD cards.
