Following months of anticipation, Realme has finally unveiled its highly awaited Realme GT 5 Pro smartphone. This flagship-grade model boasts impressive specifications and features. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

Realme GT 5 Pro: Design and Display

Realme has placed a strong emphasis on the design of the GT 5 Pro, both inside and out. The device features one of the largest heat dissipation units, with a surface area of 12,000mm2. This is particularly useful considering the powerful specs it houses. The rear panel is covered in glass (vegan leather for the orange and white variants), adding to its premium appeal. It also includes a large circular camera island that houses the image sensor.

On the front, the smartphone boasts a tall 6.78-inch 8T LTPO 1.5K OLED display. This display offers an adaptive 144Hz refresh rate, 2160Hz PWM dimming, 2160Hz touch sampling rate, DC dimming, 20,000 level dimming, Pro-XDR technology, 1600 nits of global max brightness, and an impressive 4,500 nits of peak brightness. The screen is curved from the side edges and features a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera.

Specifications

Under the hood, the Realme GT 5 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. This high-end processor ensures excellent performance, especially for gaming. It is paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The device is equipped with a massive 5,400mAh battery that supports 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging.

Realme promises three years of major Android OS updates and four years of security updates. The device runs on the Android 14 OS with Realme UI 5.0 custom skin out of the box. Other notable features include an in-display fingerprint scanner, VC cooling system, USB 3.2 enabled USB-C port, and an AI super assistant with intelligent speech generation and an AI model with 7 billion parameters.

Camera

The camera department of the Realme GT 5 Pro is equally impressive. The device features a 50-megapixel primary camera with Sony’s LYT-808 sensor, which also appears on the new OnePlus 12. The primary camera supports Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). Additionally, there is a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 periscopic telephoto shooter that offers 3x optical zoom and up to 120x hybrid zoom. The rear camera setup is completed by an 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 ultra-wide-angle lens. On the front, there is a 32-megapixel selfie camera.
