    The new Xiaomi Poco M7 5G has been officially unveiled, showcasing a revamped look that includes a round camera bump along with several notable enhancements. The display now measures 6.88 inches, with a refresh rate of 120Hz. However, Xiaomi has opted for an IPS panel that only offers a resolution of 1,640 x 720 pixels.

    Improved Performance

    Xiaomi has also upgraded to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor, which provides around 20% better performance than the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ used in last year’s version. The 8MP front-facing camera is located in a compact notch, and the fingerprint sensor is conveniently built into the power button located on the side of the device. The large round camera bump on the back houses two camera sensors: a 50MP primary camera and what is likely a 2MP additional sensor. As of now, Xiaomi hasn’t revealed the specifications for the second camera.

It boasts an IP52 rating, which means it provides some protection against dust and light water splashes, though it is not fully waterproof. This budget-friendly smartphone also includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a microSD card slot, and a 5,160 mAh battery that can be charged via USB-C at a rate of up to 18 watts. Xiaomi promises two major updates for Android software and four years of security updates. The device runs Android 14 right out of the box.

    Pricing and Availability

    Currently, the Xiaomi Poco M7 5G is available in India, with the version featuring 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage priced at ₹9,999 (approximately $115). There’s also a variant with 8GB of RAM, which costs ₹10,999 ($126). Xiaomi has yet to share any information about a possible global release.
