HMD Global has quietly expanded its entry-level lineup with the HMD Arc 2, a modest update to the original Arc model that debuted in late 2024. The new handset keeps the focus squarely on affordability, targeting users who need essential smartphone functions without the premium price tag.
Display and imaging basics
The device is built around a 6.52-inch IPS LCD screen, delivering an HD+ resolution and a standard 60Hz refresh rate. For photography, the rear houses a single 13-megapixel main camera, while a 5-megapixel front-facing sensor handles selfies and video calls.
Core hardware and battery life
Under the hood, the HMD Arc 2 relies on the Unisoc T603 chipset, the same processor found in the Xiaomi Redmi A3x. Powering the phone is a 5,000mAh battery, supported by 10W charging through a USB-C port. Memory expansion is available via a microSD card slot, and the package includes a 3.5mm headphone jack for wired audio.
Software and configuration options
The Arc 2 ships with Android 14 Go Edition, a streamlined version of the operating system optimized for modest hardware. HMD will offer two storage configurations. The 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant is priced at THB 2,290 (approximately $68), while the 4GB RAM/128GB storage model carries a THB 2,990 price tag (around $89).
Color choices include Dark Blue and Golden Beige.
Launch details and wider availability
Sales are scheduled to begin in Thailand on July 20, 2026. HMD has not yet disclosed plans for a broader international release. The launch comes at a time when ultra-budget devices continue to hold a significant share in emerging markets, often competing with offerings from Xiaomi, Realme, and Samsung’s A0-series. Separately, a recent leak has hinted at what may come next for the higher-end HMD Skyline series, though the company has remained silent on any imminent successor.
