Leaked renders and specifications, shared by a well-known source with a strong track record, point to an evolutionary update that preserves the distinctive character of the original while tackling several performance areas directly.
Familiar Lumia-Inspired Design Refined
Externally, the upcoming model—expected to be called the HMD Skyline 2—maintains the squared-off frame and rounded display that draw a clear line back to the classic Nokia Lumia era. That silhouette remains unusual in today’s market and is set to continue in three color options: light blue, black, and yellow. The visual changes are minimal, with the real story unfolding inside the chassis.
Display and Processing Power Step Up
The display specifications show a careful enhancement. HMD Global is reportedly keeping the 144 Hz OLED panel but doubling its HDR peak brightness to 2,000 nits, which should deliver a much more vivid viewing experience in bright outdoor conditions. Under the hood, the chipset is said to shift from the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 to the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, a generational move that is expected to yield roughly 16 percent higher multi-core performance for smoother multitasking and gaming.
