Oppo has introduced the Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro in India, expanding its well-known Reno series. Both smartphones support 5G and emphasize advanced AI features and modern design. Let’s delve into their specifications and pricing details.

Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Price in India and Availability

The Reno 12 5G is available at Rs 32,999 for the single variant featuring 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It can be purchased from Oppo’s website, Flipkart, and other retail outlets starting July 25th. The color options include Sunset Peach, Matte Brown, and Astro Silver.

On the other hand, the Reno 12 Pro begins at Rs 36,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, with a higher option of 12GB RAM and 512GB storage available for Rs 40,999. The Pro model will be available earlier, from July 18, via Oppo’s website, Flipkart, and other retail stores. It comes in Space Brown and Sunset Gold colors.

Moreover, Oppo is providing launch discounts such as up to Rs 4,000 instant cashback and 9-month no-cost EMI options.

Specifications

Both Reno 12 models come with a 6.7-inch OLED FHD+ curved Infinite View Display, boasting a 120Hz refresh rate, 1200 nits peak brightness, HDR10+ support, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. The Pro model’s display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, whereas the standard model uses Gorilla Glass 7i.7-inch OLED FHD+ curved Infinite View Display

For enhanced durability, the series features All-Round Armour protection, which improves resistance to drops and impacts. The High-Strength Alloy Framework, composed of metals like copper, magnesium, and silicon, offers a robust and corrosion-resistant build that adheres to aerospace quality standards. Both devices have an IP65 rating, ensuring resistance to dust and water.

Internally, the Reno 12 series is powered by a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy processor coupled with a Mali-G615 MC2 GPU. They run on Android 14 with ColorOS 14 on top, and Oppo has committed to providing three years of platform updates and four years of security updates for both models.

Camera and Battery

The camera system is a standout feature of both phones. The Reno 12 Pro sports a triple-lens rear setup with a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, and a 50MP telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom and up to 20x digital zoom.

The Reno 12 has a similar configuration but substitutes the Pro’s telephoto camera with a 2MP macro camera for close-ups up to 4cm. The front cameras differ as well, with the Reno 12 featuring a 32MP lens and the 12 Pro coming with a 50MP sensor.

Oppo has integrated several AI-enhanced camera features. AI Eraser 2.0 can remove unwanted objects from photos, while AI Clear Face improves group shots, and AI Best Face automatically corrects closed eyes. Other features include AI Smart Image Matting 2.0 for creative editing and AI Studio for adding backgrounds and crafting unique group shots.

Both phones are equipped with a 5000mAh battery that supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging, ensuring quick charge times. Additional features include dual speakers, an IR blaster, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
