Tianyi Telecom Terminal Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Telecom, has unveiled the Maimang 30 smartphone today. This new model, which follows the Maimang 20, is a mid-range device with a large display, sleek design, and built-in AI features.
Maimang 30 Specifications:
The Maimang 30 sports a 6.78-inch 1.5K curved display that includes a centered pill-shaped punch-hole cutout for the front camera. The screen has a resolution of 2700 x 1224 pixels and employs 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming to deliver smoother visuals and potentially reduce eye strain. Its 300Hz touch sampling rate ensures a responsive user experience, and the display also supports wet-hand touch functionality for added convenience.
Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor, the Maimang 30 may not be a top-tier chipset, but it is expected to handle everyday tasks and light gaming adequately. The phone comes pre-loaded with Tianyi Cloud Disk, a cloud storage service provided by China Telecom.
Advanced AI Features:
The device includes a built-in AI Star model that provides features such as an AI voice assistant, screen recognition, document scanning, and one-click access to specific functions.
The Maimang 30 is equipped with a triple-camera setup on the rear. The main sensor is a 50-megapixel unit with an f1.8 aperture, accompanied by a 2-megapixel depth sensor and an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls.
Battery and Design:
The smartphone houses a 6100mAh battery, which China Telecom claims is the largest among phones that are less than 8mm thick. The device itself is approximately 7.98mm thick and weighs around 189g, making it a fairly lightweight option despite its large battery. Additionally, the Maimang 30 supports 40W fast charging for quicker battery replenishment.
Availability and Pricing:
The Maimang 30 is offered in two storage configurations: 8GB RAM with 256GB storage and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage. Both versions are available in three colors – Obsidian Black, Crystal Blue, and Snowy White. The prices are set at 1999 yuan ($275) for the 8GB+256GB model and 2199 yuan ($302) for the 12GB+256GB variant.
Pre-orders start today, July 18th, at 3:30 PM CST, with official sales beginning at midnight on July 25th.
