Nothing Phone 3a Series Leak Reveals Camera and SoC Upgrades

Nothing is set to launch its flagship Phone 3 next year, and, much like its previous models, the company is likely to unveil two mid-range phones. A recent leak suggests that these affordable options might come with significant upgrades compared to the previous generation.

New Chipset Insights

Specifically, the Nothing Phone 3a and 3a Plus are expected to switch to a Qualcomm processor. The rumor suggests it will be the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. While it may not be the top-performing mid-range chip in 2025, considering the Snapdragon 8s Elite is said to be in the works, it will nonetheless represent a solid improvement over the Dimensity 7200 and 7350 that powered the earlier models.

Competition on the Horizon

Additionally, earlier reports hinted that the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 might also be used in a new mid-range Galaxy smartphone. If these rumors are true, the Nothing Phone 3a and 3a Plus could directly compete with the anticipated Samsung mid-range device (128 GB S24 FE currently priced at $619.97 on Amazon).

Camera Upgrades and Features

Beyond the processor, Android Authority has noted indications that the Nothing Phone 3a might be equipped with a telephoto camera. The Phone 3a Plus, on the other hand, is rumored to include a periscope camera zoom sensor. Historically, none of the previous Nothing phones featured a dedicated zoom camera, making this a noteworthy upgrade.

Another enhancement reported by Android Authority is the addition of eSIM support. Although the details are still unclear, the Nothing Phone 3a series might enable users to have one physical SIM along with one eSIM. Besides these features, the rest of the specifications for the new mid-range devices remain undisclosed, but further information is likely to surface soon.
