Galaxy S25 Ultra Camera Sensor Leak: What to Expect

Samsung is likely to reveal the Galaxy S25 series on January 22. Although there hasn’t been any official announcement from the company yet, leaks have already provided a lot of information about the upcoming flagship models. A recent leak has disclosed the details regarding the camera sensors of the S25 Ultra.

Insights on Camera Configuration

In comparison to other leaks regarding the camera setup of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, this one seems more solid and detailed. The leaker, @AssembleDebug, claims to have accessed the essential files of the smartphone, including the kernel. From these files, the leaker has uncovered the potential camera sensors that this high-end flagship device might include.

Specifications of the S25 Ultra

According to the leaker's information, it appears there won't be significant changes when looking at the Galaxy S24 Ultra (256 GB currently priced at $1,199.96 on Amazon), a suggestion made by several previous reports. Specifically, the main camera of the S25 Ultra is still anticipated to be the 200 MP Isocell HP2. The 3x telephoto lens is likely to remain the same 12 MP Sony IMX 754. The 5x telephoto lens is expected to be the 50 MP IMX 854, while the front camera is said to feature the 12 MP Isocell S5K3LU, which again mirrors the previous model.

Changes in Ultrawide Camera

The sole reported update seems to be in the ultrawide camera. Based on @AssembleDebug's research, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will reportedly include the Isocell S5KJN3 as the ultrawide sensor, believed to be the GN3. This sensor boasts a 50 MP resolution with an optical size of 1/1.57 inches, while the previous model had a 12 MP ultrawide with an optical size of 1/2.52 inches.

Although not highlighted in this leak, there have been rumors that the Galaxy S25 series will be the first to showcase the newly announced ALoP camera technology. If this technology is absent in the S25 Ultra, Samsung might implement it in the speculated S25 Slim instead.
