New ThinkPad T1g Gen 9 Launches in Select Markets
Lenovo has already released multiple ThinkPads this year. Of those, many have been 16-inch options, including the ThinkPad P1 Gen 9 that landed earlier this month in some markets. Now, Lenovo has swiftly followed this release up with the ThinkPad T1g Gen 9 as a replacement for the older Gen 8 model we reviewed in January 2026 (curr. $2,599 on Amazon).
Regional Availability and Future Release Plans
For the time being, the company is only offering its latest ThinkPad T1g in Australia, East Asia and Southeast Asia. However, a PSREF listing from earlier this year indicates that a global release is on the cards. In the meantime, Lenovo’s early store listings offer an insight into what will be available elsewhere.
Processor and Graphics Configurations
For instance, the Core Ultra 7 356H, Core Ultra 7 366H vPro and Core Ultra 9 386H vPro mentioned on PSREF are configurable. Likewise, Lenovo sells the ThinkPad T1g Gen 9 with Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 (8 GB) and GeForce RTX 5070 (12 GB) laptop GPUs. However, the former is only available with the Core Ultra 7 356H.

Meanwhile, the new GeForce RTX 5070 (12 GB) is the only GPU option for the Core Ultra 7 366H vPro and Core Ultra 9 386H vPro.
