    The OnePlus 12 is generating significant interest as it marks a potential turning point for the company. Observers note a sense of momentum and promise, signaling a departure from previous models. Although specific details about the devices are yet to be officially confirmed, the company indicated on the teaser poster that the models may have minor changes that include the thickness and network configurations. There may also be other minor changes that are not known at the moment.

    Specifications and Features

    The OnePlus 12 series has been launched and is already on sale in China where it has been plagued with some controversies that have been addressed by the company’s CEO Li Jie. To give you a hint of the configuration, the OnePlus 12 packs a 6.82-inch curved OLED display with QHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The model is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor backed by LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. The device also comes with a large VC cooling system which should do a great job of keeping the device cool while running heavy apps like extreme games. The device utilizes a glass and metal frame and has an IP65 waterproof rating.

    For optics, the OP12 packs a triple rear camera setup similar to the OnePlus Open comprising a 50MP main sensor and Hasselblad image processing. On the software side, the device runs on the Android 14-based ColorOS 14. It equally crams a 5,400 mAh battery under the hood with support for 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.

    OnePlus 12R: A Cheaper Model

    Perhaps, the most exciting bit of the announcement for many is that the OnePlus 12R will be launched for the global market. Last year, OnePlus omitted the 11R from the global launch, only making the model available in India with the previous-gen Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. In the same vein, we expect the OnePlus 12R to be a cheaper model with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset but the same design.
