At the Mobile World Congress 2024, Blackview introduced its inaugural clamshell foldable smartphone, the Blackview Hero 10. Diverging from the high-priced foldable devices already in the market, Blackview opted for a different approach by incorporating relatively modest hardware to maintain an affordable price point.
Specifications and Features
The Blackview Hero 10 is set to debut sometime in May, and its detailed specifications are already available on AliExpress. Unfolding to reveal a 6.9-inch screen boasting a resolution of 1,080 x 2,560 pixels with a refresh rate of 60Hz and a peak brightness of 1,300 nits, this device is said to withstand 250,000 folds. Positioned beneath a cleverly concealed punch-hole is a 32MP front camera.
Performance and Connectivity
Powering the Blackview Hero 10 is the MediaTek Helio G99, coupled with 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. As it employs a Helio G99 SoC, the device offers only 4G connectivity. Furthermore, it houses a 4,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging support and runs on Android 13-based DokeOS 4.0. The manufacturer has assured an update to Android 14 later in the year. Stereo speakers, NFC, and a dual-SIM slot are also part of the package.
Design and Availability
The rear of the device features a 108MP primary sensor and an 8MP ultrawide camera, all nestled within a sizable camera island that doubles as the cover display for quick notifications, messages, and calls. Blackview offers three color choices: Sakura Purple and Eclipse Black, each adorned with a vegan leather finish. Although the pricing details are missing from the listing, Blackview hinted at a launch price of around €399 during MWC 2024.
