Xiaomi has officially moved a collection of its former flagship and mid-range devices to its End-of-Life (EOL) roster, a change that halts all future software support. This designation means the affected phones and tablets will no longer receive Android version upgrades, HyperOS updates, security patches, bug fixes, or new feature drops. While the devices remain functional for everyday use, the door is now closed on official firmware maintenance, leaving any newly discovered vulnerabilities unaddressed.
Fresh Additions to the EOL List
The latest wave includes several prominent models from the Xiaomi 12 family. The standard Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro in both their global and numerous regional configurations, and the China-exclusive Xiaomi 12S Ultra have all reached the end of their support lifecycle. Xiaomi’s tablet lineup is also affected, with the China variants of the Xiaomi Pad 6 and Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro being added to the list in this cycle.
Regional Poco and Redmi Models Affected
The update introduces a segmented approach for certain Poco devices, ending support specifically for the POCO X5 5G in Turkey and the POCO X5 Pro 5G in Indonesia. Several Redmi smartphones have joined them in this final update chapter: the Redmi Note 12T Pro (China), Redmi K60E (China), and the Redmi 10 5G from the European Economic Area are all now officially retired from the company’s software maintenance program.
For many of these models, the cessation of major OS updates aligns with Xiaomi’s previously stated update commitment, making the move an expected transition rather than an abrupt cutoff. Owners of any device now present on the full EOL list, which is published on Xiaomi’s official support page, may want to consider upgrading their hardware to maintain a fully patched and up-to-date software environment.
