Fenix has expanded its portable lighting lineup with the SW06R, a compact, USB-C rechargeable flashlight designed for hands-free use. The model integrates a clip and a magnetic back, allowing it to be secured to clothing, gear, or metal surfaces with equal ease.
Triple light sources and eight output modes
The SW06R houses three distinct light sources that can be combined across eight different modes. The primary white LED emits up to 500 lumens at a 6,500K color temperature and reaches a maximum beam distance of 328 feet. Alongside it, a dedicated ultraviolet light is included for practical tasks such as stain detection or verifying currency security features. A third red light source is available for preserving night vision, and it can be paired with a blue light in a flashing signal mode. The blue emitter, however, is not configurable for steady, continuous illumination.
Runtime expectations and thermal considerations
A built-in battery with a rated capacity of 1,300mAh—equating to approximately 4.8Wh at a nominal 3.7V—powers the device. In its 500-lumen Turbo mode, the flashlight is specified to run for 2 hours and 15 minutes, though the company notes the output is likely to step down in warmer conditions to prevent overheating. Users in hot weather should anticipate intermittent breaks. Stepping down to the 150-lumen setting yields a continuous runtime of 5 hours and 15 minutes, while the 30-lumen and 5-lumen options extend endurance to 23 hours and 50 minutes and 65 hours and 35 minutes, respectively. The red light can operate for over 24 hours regardless of the selected mode, and the UV light has a rated runtime of 2 hours and 45 minutes.
Design, durability, and availability
Recharging is handled through a USB-C port. The flashlight measures approximately 3.9 inches in length and weighs 3.1 ounces. Fenix rates the SW06R for IP66 protection against dust and powerful water jets, and it is built to survive drops from heights of up to 3.3 feet. The SW06R is now listed on the brand’s official U.S. online store at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $55.
