Amazfit has postponed the launch of its new Active 2 Premium smartwatch in the United States. This model, along with two other standard Active 2 versions, was introduced back in January. These smartwatches are successors to the original Active model, which debuted at the end of 2023.
Pricing and Availability
The standard Amazfit Active 2 is currently available for sale in the US at a price of $99.99 (Amazon). Initially, the company indicated on its US site that the Premium version would debut in February for $129.99. But now, the release has been delayed until March, with no reason given. The basic models come with a silicone strap, whereas the Premium version features a black leather strap along with a red silicone sports band. Furthermore, the Premium model is equipped with sapphire glass for display protection, which is a step up from the 2.5D tempered glass seen in the standard versions.
Features and Specifications
Aside from these differences, the two variants share the same specifications. Both are equipped with a 1.32-inch AMOLED screen boasting a brightness level of up to 2,000 nits. They also include features such as heart rate and sleep monitoring, GPS functionality, and the Zepp AI assistant. There are more than 160 workout modes available, including options for strength training and HYROX races. Amazfit claims that the battery life can last up to 10 days with normal usage.
Future Launches
As of now, Amazfit has not specified an exact date in March for when the Active 2 smartwatch will be available in the US. The company has also not revealed when the Active 2 and Active 2 Premium smartwatches will be released in Europe.
