Xiaomi has introduced the Redmi Note 14 4G, which takes the place of the Redmi Note 13 4G (currently priced at $174.99 on Amazon). This new model has been available for close to a year and shows both enhancements and some unchanged features compared to its forerunner.
Camera Enhancements
The Redmi Note 14 4G keeps the same 108 MP primary and 2 MP macro cameras as the Redmi Note 13 4G. However, it upgrades to a 20 MP front camera, although it replaces the previous 8 MP ultra-wide camera with a 2 MP depth sensor. This new front camera is nicely embedded in what looks like the same 6.67-inch AMOLED display, which maintains its impressive brightness of 1,800 nits and a resolution of 1080p. While Xiaomi has upgraded the protective glass from Gorilla Glass 3 to Gorilla Glass 5, the new phone’s dimensions of 163.3 x 76.6 x 8.2 mm result in a reduced screen-to-body ratio of 85.9%.
Performance Improvements
On the flip side, the Redmi Note 14 4G is powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 Ultra chipset, which promises over a 30% boost in performance. To complement this, it offers up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. Additionally, the new model features a larger battery, now at 5,500 mAh, which is a 10% increase over its predecessor. The Redmi Note 14 4G will launch later this month with various memory options and will be available in a range of colors: Lime Green, Ocean Blue, Mist Purple, and Midnight Black.
