Earlier this week, Vivo made an announcement about the Vivo V50 Lite’s 4G version. Today, the company has globally launched the 5G edition of the Vivo V50 Lite as well. Both versions have a lot in common when it comes to display, camera, and battery features. The primary distinction is that the 5G model boasts a newer chipset and enhanced connectivity capabilities. The Vivo V50 Lite 5G, which is a successor to last year’s Vivo V40 Lite 5G, comes with a bigger battery and a larger screen compared to its forerunner.
Specifications and Display
The Vivo V50 Lite 5G showcases a 6.77-inch AMOLED screen (a slight increase from the 6.67 inches on the Vivo V40 Lite) with a resolution of 2392 x 1080 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and can reach a peak brightness of 1,800 nits. The thickness of the smartphone is 7.9 mm (0.31 in), and it weighs 196 grams (0.43 lbs). The device is driven by a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, which includes a built-in 5G modem. It features 12 GB of RAM and a substantial 512 GB of internal storage, but disappointingly, there’s no option for a microSD card slot for additional storage.
Camera and Battery
The 5G model keeps the same main camera as the 4G version, which is a 50 MP camera using the Sony IMX882 sensor. This main camera is paired with an 8 MP ultrawide sensor. A significant upgrade is the large 6,500 mAh battery (increased from the 5,000 mAh of the V40 Lite 5G) that supports 90 W wired charging. The device operates on Funtouch OS 15, which is based on Android 15, but there hasn’t been any information from the brand regarding software updates.
Additional Features and Pricing
Among other features, the phone includes an in-display optical fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, IP65 water and dust resistance, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC support. Similar to its predecessor, Vivo has removed the 3.5 mm headphone jack from this model.
The Vivo V50 Lite 5G is offered in black, gold, and purple colors, with a price tag of €400 for the 12 GB + 512 GB configuration. It is currently available for purchase in Europe through Vivo’s online store.
