Vivo has rolled out the V40 and V40 Pro smartphones in India. These latest additions to the V series come equipped with Zeiss lenses for their cameras and boast impressive specs and features. Positioned just below the flagship tier, let's explore their specifications, pricing, and more.

Vivo V40 Pro

The Vivo V40 Pro stands as the premium model in the new lineup, featuring a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution, HDR10+, peak brightness of 4500 nits, and a 120Hz refresh rate. It houses the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ SoC, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The device is powered by a substantial 5,500mAh battery that supports 80W wired fast charging.

Running on Android 14 OS with Funtouch OS custom skin, the V40 Pro sports Zeiss lenses for its 50-megapixel Sony IMX921 primary sensor. It also includes a 50-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens and a 50-megapixel Sony IMX816 telephoto shooter offering 2x optical zoom. Additionally, the rear is equipped with a smart Aura Light, while the front has a 50-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. Other noteworthy features are an in-display fingerprint scanner, a sleek 7.58mm body, and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

Vivo V40

The Vivo V40 is the standard model, also featuring a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness with a 20:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. A 5,500mAh battery with 80W wired fast charging powers the device.

Similarly, it operates on Android 14 OS with the Funtouch OS custom skin. The rear setup includes a 50-megapixel main sensor with Zeiss lens and OIS, along with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens. The front hosts a 50-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. Additional features include an IP68 rating, an in-display fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 5.4, and a slim 7.58mm body.

Pricing and Availability

Vivo has introduced the V40 in three colors: Titanium Gray, Lotus Purple, and Ganges Blue. In contrast, the V40 Pro is available in just two colors: Titanium Gray and Ganges Blue. Here are the prices for the two models:

Pre-bookings for the Vivo V40 series began earlier today (7th August 2024). The Vivo V40 Pro will be available for purchase on 13th August 2024, while the V40 will go on sale starting 19th August 2024.
